Review: Groove Culture main men Micky More and Andy Tee are once again at the controls as the label presents its' seventh collection of club-ready cuts. As with the popular imprint's various EPs, the focus is on joining the dots between organic house, revivalist disco, uplifting dancefloor soul and colourful jazz-funk. There's much to admire from start to finish, with our picks of a very strong bunch including Dave Lee's celebratory edit of Gianni Binni's swirling disco-funk treat 'Dancing & Grooving', a wonderfully rolling and soulful DJ Assassin rework of Lou Casablanca and Angela Johnson's 'Gimme Your Love', Andrei Tomei and Alfreda Gerland's tasty disco-house cover of 'Young Hearts Run Free' and the revivalist Italo-house warmth of Don Carlos's 'Good Education (vocal mix)'.

Review: Marc Cotterell is head honcho of the superb Plastic People label but this, his second full-length outing, comes instead on Italy's Groove Culture label, which is headed up by Micky More and Andy Tee. That's not the only surprise: if you're familiar with Cotterell's back catalogue you'll notice this album perhaps has more instrumental/near-instrumental jams and less vocals than you might be expecting. But otherwise the MO remains broadly similar: trad-style house and garage with disco overtones are the order of the day generally and there are bombs galore on offer, from the pure funk groove of 'Feel The Groove' to the smooth, sultry garage of 'Deep Inside' to the bumpin' organ throb of closer 'To The Beat'. Excellent work!

Review: The Italian pairing of Micky More and Andy Tee have impressed this reviewer many times over the years, resolutely flying the flag for traditional, vocal, US-style house music regardless of the vagaries of fashion and the zeitgeist, but perhaps never more so than with this collection of remixes, which sees them applying their undoubted talents to re-polishing works from scene greats like The Sunburst Band, Miguel Migs, Incognito, Jestofunk, David Penn, Richard Earnshaw, Mr A.L.I and many more. The results are every bit as warm, sumptuous and life-affirming as you could possibly hope for... start with their very fine takes on Jestofunk's 'I'm Gonna Love You' and, for some proper goosebump moments, Soft House Company's 'What You Need'.

Review: Now here's a song that you ALL know, even if you think you don't! Rose Royce's 'Is It Love You're After?' is well-known to disco lovers but perhaps less familiar to the music-buying public at large... who will instead hear the first few bars and go, "Oh my god, it's S-Express!". Now, Italian disco-house/nu-disco stalwarts Micky More and Andy Tee team up with veteran NYC vocalist Angela Johnson (of Cooly's Hot Box fame) to produce their own version, which is served up in five mixes. The 12" Intro and 12" Dub mixes stick faithfully to Rose Royce's 70s blueprint, while Da Lukas's remix (and its accompanying Instrumental and Edit rubs) adds a little more house-y oomph. But it's that oh-so-familiar horns 'n' bass into that'll slay 'em, whichever you opt for!

Review: As west coast house legend Marques Wyatt pointed out 20-odd years ago, there are "those who like music kinda mellow" and "those who like to get down". And here, presumably having taken those words as inspiration, Micky More & Andy Tee serve up a collection of 20 tracks aimed fair and square at the latter camp. Packing tracks from scene favourites like Marc Cotterell, Da Lukas, Sebb Junior, HP Vince, Serge Funk and Ricky Montanari, we're largely in strutty, Saturday night disco-house territory here, with the odd excursion into slightly deeper pastures (not least Lalo Leyy & Chanknous's fine closer 'The Elements'), but the quality bar's set high throughout... so all YOU need to do is point these tracks at a dancefloor, lean back and enjoy the carnage!
