Review: Eric C Burton's output under the Rabit moniker has grown and grown over recent years, taking him from labels like Tri Angle to other strongholds such as Ninja Tune - not bad for a man who enjoys making some of the oddest, most explorative strains of electronic music around! Interestingly, Les Fleurs Du Mal is his debut release on his own Halcyon Veil imprint, having preferred the music of other artist over his own, up until now. The album is a nutty hodgepodge of designer electronics and psychedelic field recordings, blended into one masterful wall of abstractions. Much like the type of work on imprints like PAN or Editions Mego, this is the arthouse of electronic music, glitching and turning voraciously around each corner. What an impressive cocktail of surrealism.
