Review: One half of Ego Trippin', Lil' Sound Killa boots up the mini-murderation station and rallies up a few young players from their High Def label for a series of all-out, balls-out slammers. Leading the way with two heavyweight jams from his own stash, 'Dark Crystal' sets the tone with a Clipz style mid range bassline riff while 'Original Fever' hits a deliciously mischievous tear-out vibe. Elsewhere new bloods Mode One and DJ Kitty 007 get real with their own contributions; the latter shakes and stirs us with big dancefloor wallops while the former flexes an epic dramatic vibe, especially with the horn elements on 'Like Water'. Three's definitely not a crowd on this venture.

Review: Ego Trippin crank up their Hi Def machine for the first time in 2023 with this collection from currently unknown new talent Mode One. Four tracks heavy, each one hits a different spot in the dance... 'I Feel You' hits with blunt-nosed riffy energy, 'To The Beat Ya' hits with a mischievous sense of funk with its addictive harmonic bassline, 'The Undead' is a Taxman style big belly roughhouse session while 'Profound' ends on some freaky cyborg funk flex. Definitely feeling this one.

Review: Oh gosh! Ego Trippin goes in with their first Hi Def VA The Young Players. An unapologetic celebration of jump-up in 2022 and its hearty range of protagonists, the EP is loaded with a wide range of on-point producers licking up raw energy and savage soul from the jungle splashes and mad riff energy of Ingenuity's 'Deity' to Buhzerker's bulldozing, carrot-munching dancefloor tear-up 'Rabbit'. Other bruisers that just cannot be ignored Kensei's pranged-out, sharp-toothed 'Megalodon', J Switch's ravey swashbuckler 'Underwater' and the many peak time slapdowns from Ego Trippin himself. Massive!

Review: Keeping things pure and simple each and every time, Natural Error returns to Hi Def with four more stripped-back floor-focused fire-ups. All within the deadly and very forthright jump-up tone and style as his previous releases, each cut hits hard with a solid and savage idea. In 'Nasty' is all about that high frequency riff, in 'One Life' it's about that Benny L style growl, in 'I'm Darkness' we're bombarded with a Hazard-like hornets nest style buzz while 'Got The Fire' lights up every zoot in a 420 mile radius with its vibrant flare and sense of fun. Killer business; time to be as 'Nasty' as we want to be.

Review: Some serious precious gems from Natural Error right here as he digs deep into early 2010 vibe; high frequency textures (but not silly ringtone high), large helpings of grot (but not so grotty we lose the groove) and high levels of riff addictiveness (but not so addictive we have to go to rehab) are all in play as the Hi Def mainstay runs the gamut across four tracks. 'Sapphire' blasts with big rave feels before jumping into a Supreme Being style bassline circa 2009, 'Power' hits with a scatty and sweet Q&A while 'Let's Fly' packs some serious bounce. Finally 'How Does It Feel' brings out the shiniest pots and pans and flattens them before your very eyes and ears. Feel good.

Review: Hi Def are one of the most prolific jump-up labels around. We regularly feature their releases and they almost always smash it out of the park, this time being no different. Access All Areas is a fiery EP, featuring Ego Trippin, Filthy Habits and more, that epitomizes the type of jump-up, but also slightly different flavours as well, that, in more ways than one, has defined D&B over the past couple of years - no-nonsense, uncompromising and proudly nonchalant about what you think. It's just pure attitude, dancefloor-based music at its best and music that simply does what it wants, there's no pretentiousness or image-orientated concerns - it's just D&B. Big, big tunes.

Review: Essex boy EGO TRIPPIN is jump up's man of the moment he's tracks have been destroying floors for a hot sec and now he's unleashing those VIP's we've been hearing for months. As with all VIPs the tracks stay true to originals with tiny tweaks. 'Filthy Criminals' see's extra layers added to the main melody at different pitches, bringing new textures to the track, and the odd little skip giving illusions of double drops. While 'Two Types' echoes and prolongs, if you're a fan of the first two this is a no brainer.
