Review: Following the recent killer Favicon EP by Runaway's Jacques Renault, the ever so tiny but ever so great Hole In The Sky imprint throw the focus back on Australasian talent with the debut release by Sydney collective Tortoiseshell. "This Girl" covers all the bases of the bands influences such as Talking Heads, ESG, A Certain Ratio and Roxy Music and makes for a particularly breezy four minutes of disco pop which is no doubt complemented by the production skills of Canyons. More exciting for us is the Dub version from the vastly under rated Sydney production duo that completes the release. Canyons beef up the bass line, submerge the vocals in blissful echo and add some much needed neck snap quality to the drums.
