Recently celebrating 25 incredible years at the very top of the always-ascending drum & bass mountain, Hospital Records was formed in 1996 by long-term friends Tony Colman & Chris Goss, developing into one of the most iconic labels in drum & bass, and the wider electronic spectrum as a whole. World-renowned and with a mammoth cultural influence across the globe, the Hospital family spin webs of luxurious liquid gold from their homebase of South London, as well as anthemic dancefloor piledrivers and just about every other string of DnB you can think of - they really do it all, and they do it with aplomb. With one of the widest rosters in the industry that includes classic names like Netsky, Danny Byrd, High Contrast, Nu:Tone, Etherwood, Logistics, S.P.Y, Fred V, Grafix and boss London Elektricity, combined with nu-age talent Kings Of The Rollers, Whiney, Unglued, Makoto, Urbandawn, Keeno, Inja, Hugh Hardie, Degs, Metrik and many more, Hospital are home to a truly stunning array of once-in-a-lifetime talent. Put that alongside their concentration on synch, famed Hospitality festivals & club nights and their ‘Songs In The Key Of Knife’ publishing arm, and you can just begin to visualise how much of an industry giant Hospital Records really are. The scene wouldn’t be the same without them, and their success and ambition is truly unprecedented.
Review: 10 years old and still sounding super fresh; Camo & Krooked's second album Zeitgeist marks a significant anniversary with this collection of absolutely walloping remixes. The new-gen take the lead with Justin Hawkes taking 'Aurora' to gritty new levels and Blooom going ballistic with the emotions via a Mefjus-level on 'Faith'. Deeper into the EP we hit dynamic splendour with Grey Code's take on 'Ruhepuls' before the one and only Emperor shuts down the celebrations with this truly face-melting take on 'All Night'. What a collection of remixes! Hospital have smashed this one, fair play.
Review: P Money and Whiney: possibly the most winning combo since ketchup and chips or gin and tonic. Together the pair have been stacking up some serious heat since 'Buss The Red' leaked way back in November 21 and the vibes have been coming in thick and fast with singles like 'So It Seems', 'Saviour' and 'Junkyard'. Now comes the full album they've been promising for well over a year now. Well worth the wait as Whiney whips up sonic storms and P goes in hard on the bars, highlights include the epic flash and smash of 'Ecstasy', the tempo-flipping flexery of '175 - 140' and the Dreps-featured slammer 'Ghetto Hospitality'. What an album!
Review: Marking 20 years since his second album first blessed our collection, Hospital Records co-founder London Elektricity celebrates this milestone with an almighty collections of remixes from some very exciting names. From Mozey to Zero T, Kimyan Law to Conrad Subs, each artist pays respect to the golden age liquid originals while giving them the update they deserve. Highlights include the rude funk and sci-fi jazz of Hugh Hardie's remix of 'Main Ingredient', Imo-Lu & WhyTwo's gentle cosmic take on 'Syncopated City' and Watch The Ride's stinking twist on 'Billion Dollar Gravy'. Feel the inflation!
Review: Nu:Logic, the duo behind the iconic debut album 'What I've Always Waited For', released in 2013, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special project. Titled 'Remixes I've Always Waited For', the EP puts a fresh spin on the original release with four innovative renditions of the album's classics. The EP features remixes by drum and bass power duo Technimatic, bass music champion Flava D, and rumbling minimal production artist T:I. Nu:Logic themselves also formulated an exclusive VIP of their classic track 'Tripping In Space'. Technimatic's remix of 'Morning Light' breathes new life into the original with delicate atmospherics and rolling drumwork, while Flava D's remix of the album title-track, 'What I've Always Waited For', injects her signature bass wobbles and warped soundscapes. T:I puts his deep and dangerous twist on 'Everlasting Days (feat. Lifford)' and finally, Nu:Logic's VIP of 'Tripping In Space' features an acid-infused new generation bubbler complete with warped synthesis and a tough low-end. Not to miss!!
