My People
My People - (5:56) 130 BPM
Fly Hi - (6:48) 132 BPM Hot
Review: Kane Dignum's first Little Fritter outing on Hot Creations, 2020's 'Dub Riddem', was a booming, dancehall-influenced tech-house anthem, so hopes are high for the Aussie artist's belated follow-up. This time round, the influence of soundsystem culture is not as prominent, though the throbbing bassline underpinning lead cut 'My People'- a crunchy, stripped-back, peak-time ready big room tech-house excursion rich in soulful male vocals and warehouse-ready synth stabs - is pleasingly weighty. The Gold Coast-based producer takes things up a notch on 'Fry High', an energetic and sweat-soaked, rave-igniting number that joins the dots between big room funky house, breakbeats and the disco-house surge of late '90s 'French touch' tracks.

Dance Lapse - (5:16) 128 BPM Hot

Footsteps In The Dark - (6:10) 130 BPM
Review: Fresh from the release of the Slow Down single on Catch & Release, Sosa UK joins forces with Floorplay founders Prok & Fitch for a collaborative EP on Hot Creations. What's on offer is weighty, sweaty and big room ready, particularly title track 'Dance Lapse' - a rolling, sub-heavy chunk of peak-time tech-house built around crunchy drums, fuzzy aural textures, booming bass and eyes-closed vocal snippets. The trio moves further towards mind-mangling tech-house territory on the glitchy, wobble bass-sporting, lightly UKG influenced wonkiness of 'Sweat', before reaching for urgent, excitable, delay-laden electronic lead lines on the similarly sub-heavy chunkiness of 'Footsteps in the Dark'. Big music for big rooms that boast suitably big sooundsystems.

Review: Hot Creations delivers a combined EP by French producers Malikk (Hottrax/Toolroom/Solotoko) and Chicks Luv Us (Desolat/Viva Limited) bridging the gap between tech house and dub techno in a bright and playful style. First up is the tough main room groove of "Can We Dance" followed by the rolling, heads-down affair "Makelene" and finally Malikk goes solo on the latin rhythm infused minimal house groover "Talkie Walkie".

Fleek - (5:40) 125 BPM
Get It - (5:12) 130 BPM
Review: Welsh producer No-e is quickly rising up the ranks. Honing his craft in his hometown of Swansea, his recent releases on Food Music and All Night Long Records have caught the ears of industry heavyweights, such as Jamie Jones. He serves up the funked-up boompty disco loops of "A List" on Jones' esteemed Hot Creations label, reminiscent of classic DJ Sneak, while the low slung, hypnotic and bass-driven groove of "Fleek" provides more main room tackle, and the funky house slammer "Get It" nails that classic Robsoul sound of old.

Review: Fast rising producer Mr Diamond, he of Solid Grooves Raw, Saved Records and Seven Dials fame, tested his sound on more than 300 songs over the last two years. As a DJ, his sets cover the full spectrum of house music, so he took this approach when making the Dance With Me EP. From the funky house attack of the title track, to the sweltering tribal house ritual of "Bongomatic" and the clipped rhythms of final track "London Bass", a trippy minimal house workout that is aimed squarely at after hours dancefloors.

Eerbawdy Wants To Deeezsko (dub) - (7:25) 126 BPM
Review: Fresh from fine outings on Desolat and Robsoul Recordings, much-loved Canadian producer Demuir debuts on Hot Creations. He sets the tone with "Samba and the Elf", an energy-packed, boompty-style house bumper driven forwards by sweaty drums and a brilliant punk-funk bassline, before dancing shirtless towards disco-house pastures on cheery title track "High. Alive. & Dirty". "Rawness Beat 3" doffs a cap to both classic hip-house and the muscular, disco-fired loop-house of DJ Sneak, while "Eerbawdy Wants To Deeeszko" is a fired-up romp through high-octane house grooves and filtered disco samples. To round off the EP, Demuir delivers a tight and driving "Dub" of that celebratory workout.

Fantasee (Jansons remix) - (6:36) 127 BPM
Melania Please - (6:53) 130 BPM
Review: Ben Sterling is quickly becoming a respected artist in the house music sphere, named as Danny Howard's first Future Fire guest of the year on BBC Radio 1 in 2019. At the tender age of 18, his residency for Rulin' at London's Ministry of Sound marked him out as one to watch. He's no stranger to Jamie Jones' sphere, having appeared previously on Hot Creations in addition to Hottrax and Repopulate Mars. Acid house definitely plays a central influence on Sterling's new effort "Fantasee" with its sleazy first wave Chicago style groove. This is followed by the bass heavy bounce of "Melania Please" (which could have been equally at home on a label like Dirtybird) and a tough rolling disco house makeover by Jansons (Circus/8 bit) which is aimed squarely the main room at peak time.

Airplane To Madrid - (6:15) 128 BPM Hot
Talkin' Bout - (6:17) 127 BPM
Acid Souls - (7:06) 126 BPM
Review: Sometime Play It Say It artist returns to Hot Creations following last year's Jamie Jones collaboration, "Doctor Zouk". It's the New York-based producer's first solo EP for the imprint and looks set to amplify his profile no end. He begins with the all-action bounce of "Airplane To Madrid", an excitable chunk of disco-tech marked out by prominent bass guitar, sweaty vocal snippets and just the right amount of mind-altering percussion. It's a driving, thrill-a-minute affair that sounds like a dancefloor hit in the making. Elsewhere, "Talkin' About" is a tough, acid-fired chunk of rolling tech-house funk, while "Acid Souls" sees Berrie wrap mangled TB-303 lines around live-sounding drums, chunky acid bass and female spoken word snippets.

Shake It - (6:20) 126 BPM
Jam Tight - (6:34) 124 BPM
Review: The pairing of Sammy W & Tobus first came to label boss Jamie Jones' attention back in 2011. Their fresh approach to DJ sets has garnered support from some of the scene's top DJs, and their their seamless blend of tech-house, funk and hip-hop has been released music on 8bit, Repopulate Mars and Brock Wild, as well as running their own labels Tobus X and Tobus Limited. Following on from last year's Bump It EP, the pair join forces once again on the Acid Terrace EP. Kicking off with the dirty, tough rolling funk of the title track with its jacked vocals, followed up by the rough and ready/Todd Terry influenced old school flavour of "Shake It" plus the druggy minimal shuffle of Jam Tight".

Along Came Polly
Along Came Polly - (6:29) 124 BPM Hot
Rolo - (6:10) 125 BPM
Review: Rebuke is an Irish DJ and producer who is on the ascent. He runs the night Outhouse in Kilterkenny and he has released EP's and singles on Saved, Toolroom and Mother with ones on DFTD to follow in the coming months. Most recently, his Rebuke/rave series has been causing a major stir with reimagined versions of rave era classics such as "Bombscare" and "The Tape" gaining glowing reviews from top DJs. Reuben Keeney serves up the tough rolling minimal funk of "Along Came Polly" - story has it that Keeney found it perhaps a bit too weird for Jamie Jones & Co. but the boss man by all accounts was loving it! Second offering "Rolo" does deep down and dirty disco loops for the late night in the vein or DJ Sneak or Phil Weeks in impressive fashion.

Review: Star producer Andrea Oliva is back on Jamie Jones' always reliable imprint, with a brand new set of sturdy tech house numbers sure to rock the house. This release following up some tough grooves on Circus, Saved and Rawthentic. In typical Hot Creations style "Upside Down" is aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor and bounces away in near bombastic fashion, to get the crowd into the zone a bit earlier in the night "Piano Not Piano" works a treat with its dubby and hypnotic elements, as does "Sound Like That" with its use of strong swing and its catchy vocal refrain.

Paradise On Earth 01 Mexico (continuous mix By Patrick Topping) - (1:18:07) 126 BPM
Review: Two heroes of the new breed kick off a new mix series for Jamie Jones' esteemed Hot Creations imprint. Jones began Paradise at DC10 (Ibiza) five years ago and it's gone on to be a huge success, inviting the biggest names in the business to come play alongside his crew of residents. The first mix is courtesy of Toronto's Nathan Barato, a frequent collaborator with local heroes such as Carlo Lio and The Junkies and whose career has been on the rise with releases on Cajual, Saved, Circus and Defected. Highlights include the Derrick Carter classic "Where Ya At?" (Mix Originale), Makam's brooding "Loleatta" and Jared Wilson's rusty acid odyssey "Girl, I'm Waitin". UK talent Patrick Topping this year completed his third summer as resident at DC10 in Ibiza for Paradise. Here Topping showcases the sound and style of his sets with high energy from the word go. His mix features several of his own productions guaranteed for maximum dancefloor impact, as well as Metaboman's lo-slung and exotic "Next Please" through to Dave Clarke's massive remix of Jark Prongo's "Movin Thru Your System".

"Baby I Got It" simply belongs to Hot Creations; summer vibes, modern house, simple b-line and undeniably primed for a sweaty dancefloor. Second up "Something Special" goes down a luscious route with long, drawn-out synths, groovy bass and more summery female vocals. Mr Ahmed meanwhile takes remix duties for "Baby I Got It" and attacks with dark piercing twists and eerie turns.
