Review: Byron The Aqurius's first outing on House of Underground is a typically expansive affair, with six slices of proper deepness to enjoy. Notably, it boasts a trio of collaborations: a drowsy slab of ultra-deep, soulful house brilliance featuring superb lead vocals from Lailah ('Time To Real'); some sub-heavy sci-fi deep house made in cahoots with Motor City hero Kyle Hall ('Evolution'); and a hook-up with mind-mangling house and techno hero Jordan GCZ (he reverb-laden bass, crispy machine drums, jazzy keys and spacey solos of EP highlight 'Monkeyshop'). Elsewhere, he presents delay-laden, late-night dancefloor dubs of 'People of Kemet' and 'Rain; (a more skippy, US garage-influenced number), and drifts his way through classic deep house pastures on 'Fallenquas'.
