Review: Nine months delivering the label's first 'Split EP', House Puff is back with a sequel. Once again, imprint founder DJ Steaw is featured, rounding off proceedings with two tidy tracks: the organ and sub-bass-rich, '90s New Jersey garage revivalism of 'Jazzy Thang', which features sampled shout-outs to Chicago originator Ron Hardy, and the more hypnotic, locked-in and sonically trippy 'Le Petit Monsieur (Brooklyn By Night Mix)', where angular, analogue bass, skipping deep house drums and ultra-deep riffs catch the ear. The EP's other two tracks come from label debutant Simon Shaw. He opts for undulating bass, woozy chords and warming riffs on tech-tinged deep house number 'Pipes', before opting for a chunkier, marginally more bumping deep house vibe on 'For The Love'.

Review: Dutch DJ Aron Volta joins force with Frenchman DJ Steaw for the first in a series of exciting house EPs. Steaws' soul-inspired, bass-rich productions are the perfect counterbalance to the rolling groove on Volta's side, with 'Room 101' having a disco feel, whilst 'Lyre' borrows from trance sensibilities in its melodies. The bass is then turned up a notch in piano house cut 'Inner Beauty', borrowing from classic New York 80s House, and a more melodic, rhythmic 'Cosmic Dream' is a throwback fantasy for house oldheads. This first chapter will definitly convnincing you to keep your eye s open for next ones. Merci beaucoup House Puff records.
