Review: Over the course of his career as Draso, Julien Matthew has offered up tracks that prioritise mood and melody. Here he makes his bow on All Day I Dream offshoot In Waves with arguably his strongest and most well-rounded EP to date. The Australian producer sets his stall out with 'Hygge', a soft-touch slab of warming, melody-rich deep house smothered in eyes-closed piano motifs and dreamy chords, before offering up two takes on title track 'The Moment Is Forever': a near ten-minute original mix that peppers immersive chords and shuffling grooves with twinkling electric piano motifs and additional percussion, and a gorgeous, ambient style 'Introspective Reprise'. The remainder of the EP is just as warm, melodious and atmospheric, making it an essential purchase for anyone who loves detailed, expansive and emotive house music.

Review: The latest missive from the quietly impressive In Waves imprint offers a double-header of sorts, with Bona Fide and Luka Sambe both providing club-ready and ambient versions of a track apiece. Bona Fide's 'The Lost Orchestra' is a sparkling, uplifting treat, with glistening, brightly coloured lead lines and cascading synth strings rising above a rubbery progressive house groove. The accompanying beat-free version is simply stunning too and provides a neat snapshot of Bona Fide's complex composition and interlocking musical motifs Luka Sambe's 'Lapeza' meanwhile is a deeper, chunkier and more contemplative affair, whose tough and chunky drums give way to warming chords, simmering synth-strings and twinkling pianos on the alternative ambient version.
