Review: Heavyweight collabo DJ Hybrid and Sammie Hall link for the first time on 'Falling Again'. Hybrid's hooks are bubbly as ever with a real spacious vibe to the whole production that gives Sammie all the space she needs to apply her on-point dreamy vocal prowess. For an extra twist, this also comes with DJ Hybrid's first ever deep house / bass house version. Just as bubbly but with a little UKG sass to the groove, you'll be falling in love with this one again and again.
Review: Innovate Audio are a regular here on Juno and for good reason, their proclivity for steadily releasing rough but energetic, whole-hearted cuts is strong and their small size doesn't prevent the release of top-quality music. This single features a remix and a VIP of an already wicked original, and the VIP is the strongest on the release, with a Dispatch-esque feel to its cracking percussion and a bouncing, merciless back end that rips across the range with style. The other cut goes down a more jump-up route that ends in a scenic view of dancefloor destruction and, if you like Innovate, this is the release for you.
Review: Soul Defiance is landing on Innovate Audio here with an innovative (unsurprising, right?) EP, one that's nicely in line with the rest of the musical goodness that flows through the gates of Innovate. It's the title tune that's caught our eye, with a glitchy, almost 8-bit intro that blends perfectly into a soulful vocal sample, the serenity of which is belied by the furious rapidity of the drop. Chopped up, punchy drums blend into each other and the bassline comes along for the ride - excellent stuff and the rest of the EP is equally top notch.
Review: There's something so, so nice about D&B that combines vocal loveliness with gully undertones, and that's exactly what KC and Christina Tamayo have done here. The title track starts off beautifully laid-back, with a simple piano line leading you in onto the rattling percussion and guttural, funky bassline. There's an old-school roughness to this that we're digging a lot. The flip is similar in its rough and tumble sonics, this time not dropping out of nowhere but slowly building itself up, the momentum finally releasing on the drop into a hail of energy and force. Tamayo sounds fantastic throughout, so shoutout to her, KC and the Innovate crew.
Review: Octo Pi has released on Shogun Audio, amongst others, and he's back now alongside Rogueone on Innovate Audio with a release that's decidedly darker, featuring lots of monochromatic basslines and pumping, remorseless vibes. 'U Bad' is one of our favourites just for its precise, stepping percussive line that comprises lots of little sounds all interwoven together. 'Break It' is simpler but bigger, with a rambunctious bassline that ploughs through the range with ease. There's a really cool futuristic quality to these tracks, almost spacey, and it injects a tad of originality into an already wicked set of arrangements. Nice one.
Review: AJ Mutated Estonian and one-half of duo Mutated Forms, who have released on Spearhead records amongst others. He's back now on Innovate Audio with a release that's decidedly darker, featuring lots of monochromatic basslines and pumping, remorseless vibes. 'Dusted' is one of our favourites just for its precise, stepping percussive line that comprises lots of little sounds all interwoven together. 'Move' is simpler but bigger, with a rambunctious bassline that ploughs through the range with ease. Nice one.
