Review: Best known for his work on Underground Resistance, Bileebob now appears on another seminal Detroit label, Interdimensional Transmissions. Traversing the worlds of electro and techno, "Star Cross" centres on a grainy rhythm, tight bursts of percussion and time-stretched vocals. The sound of the human voice is absent from the alternate instrumental version, but it re-appears in a bugged out version on Derek Plaslaiko's remix, where wave upon wave of acid rains down on rolling snares. Closing out this fine release is "Network"; it sees Bileebob return to a pure version of electro, where a murky bass collides with noisy bursts of percussion.

Review: While Justin Cudmore has long been a respected DJ, last year saw him release his debut record, Crystal on Dark Entries sister label, Honey Sound System. The follow up, for long-running, seminal Detroit imprint, Interdimensional Transmissions, sees him return to his DJ roots. The Acid Series in the title is a reference to the No Way Back parties that the label organises. Fittingly, Cudmore puts his head down and knocks out the ebm-influenced, grinding rhythm of 'Duck Hunt', before heading into full-on acid mayhem of "Flirt". He then takes the intensity levels down a few notches with the stripped back "'11:11 Live", while the low-slung 303s of BK's Acid Mix of 'Outsider" brings his impressive second release to a close.

Review: RMXD is Armando 'Alpha 606' Martinez' second release on Interdimensional Transmissions and is the rather tardy follow up to 2008's Electronica Afro-Cubano. Flanked by high-profile remixers, Martinez does well to impress with "808 Trax". A linear drum track takes a ride through an inner city at night, the screeches, groans and howls of its nocturnal population kept under the surface by steely claps. Label owner BMG's take on "Armambo" is similarly inclined, this time with spacey undercurrents fusing with tight 808s. Erika's version of "We Leave Tonight" is a more understated deep techno track, while at the other end of the spectrum, Anthony Shakir turns "808 Trax" into a full-on, drum-heavy techno track that is more complex than a spaghetti junction at rush hour.

Review: Jamal Moss is one of the most exciting artists working in electronic music, and "Rape & Honey" is a reminder of his willingness to push the boundaries. The release starts with the dense maze of glitchy noise that is "2nd Soul Of The First Body". It sets the tone for the rest of the album. It's followed by the title track's warped, acidic rhythm, "Tribal Retribution", where it sounds like the Chicago producer has imprisoned a Middle Eastern vocalist in his dense and distorted rhythm, as well as Moss pushing his drum machine to the limits on "The Church Of The Red Museum" and "Ministry". He might call it the "Land of Rape & Honey", but really, he inhabits the outer limits.

Review: Interdimensional Transmissions label owner Brendan M Gillen (BMG) teams up again with long-serving Detroit DJ Plaslaiko for a deep techno/electro workout. The title track, available here in two versions, moves from the fuzzy, acid-soaked instrumental take to the original version, which navigates a path through electro-bass frequencies, acidic pulses and ponderous, pitch-bent vocals. For the rest of the release, the duo focuses on an abstract approach. "Breaking You Down" is an esoteric soundtrack of bleeps and tones; "Your Mind Is Mine" continues the pair's interest in frazzled drones - only this time without even the semblance of a groove to back it up.

Review: Erika Sherman from Ectomorph has attracted another set of talents to remix Hexagon Cloud. Donato Dozzy contributes two remixes; the first is his take on "Early Warning Starfield". It's an aptly named 'spiral synth' version, with the Italian producer adding layers of psychedelic synths over a gentle but dance floor friendly pulse. At the other end of the spectrum, Dozzy contributes the dense, percussive ticks and drums of his Bioclock version of the same track. The rest of the remixes focus on the dance floor; the Outer Space version of "Tow Ride" starts with microscopic beats before veering into a tranced out cacophony of bass and synths, while Patrick Russell's version of "North Hex" is a sleazy, bass-heavy groove.

Review: Digging into the story behind this behemoth of a single makes you realise what a character Sal P must be. Ectomorph's Brendan Gillen has a detailed story of how the two came to work together which touches on how Liquid Liquid stole their food rider and Principato's thoughts against marriage. It's far too detailed to recount in full but worth investigating yourself as provides some definite context for the two certified jams on this EP. "Credit Card" is stupendously good, effortlessly merging the taut punk funk swagger of Principato in his pomp with the snapping arrangement from Gillen. This is continued with "Esink", an eastern tinged percussive twister that operates at the lower reaches and sees Mr P in relatively restrained form. Big tip!
