Review: Following a series of Eps, DJ Mell G curates her first compilation. Over the course of 11 tracks, Volume 1 brings together a disparate but inspired collection of modern electro and breaks. "Make Music With Numbers" from Olympe4000 is a low-slung call-and-response party tune, while in contrast, User Dellusion's "808 Deep State" is a timeless electro jam, inspired by Model 500 and Aux 88. The compilation also spans moods as well as styles; Timkovbiatch's "Alertness" is a dystopian workout, laden with gloomy synths and dusty break beats, while the hyper-speed rhythm and atmospheric synths of CCC's "90 Grad" captures the chaotic euphoria of 90s hardcore.
