Review: DJ Dextro follows a long line of Portuguese talent such as The Advent and A.Paul - and he shares their ability to make distinctive club-primed techno. This release on KD Raw gives full vent to his capabilities. The title track resounds to cold bleeps, skipping percussion and bursts of white noise, with Dextro bringing these elements together over a pulsating groove. "Bombeiro Sapador" is more familiar sounding. Led by shimmering chords and dubby kicks, it could be a contemporary update on Force Inc 90s techno . "Take Me Up" sees him veer in a different direction, with female vocals set to a looped house groove.

Review: KD Raw celebrates its 100th release in style with a superb, dance floor-focused compilation. The fact that KD Raw 100 features so many of techno's most talented producers is testament to label owner Kaiserdisco's A&Ring skills. UK veteran Mark Broom teams up with DJ Love to deliver the slamming kicks and incendiary chord surges of "Ackney Mate". Meanwhile, Drunken Kong goes down a pared back, percussive route for "Hypnosis", while DJ Dextro's "Perihelion" resounds to a clanging bass and raw acid lines. KD Raw has also secured the services of Umek: working under his Polyvinyl alias, the Slovenian titan drops the rolling minimal house of "Shock Factor". The Southern may be a newer name, but his contribution is no less impressive, as he drops the insistent, looped techno of "All About You".

Review: Uncertain follows last year's Sabotage EP on KD Raw with this fine club techno release. "Whack" resounds to tough kicks and piledriving percussion, with these elements providing the basis for Uncertain to factor in menacing chord stabs and hypnotic vocal loops. "Soul" is more frenetic but just as funky. Fusing an insistent disco filter with layered percussive elements, it makes for a dynamic, impactful track. On "Cure", he changes tact again. The rhythm is more streamlined. Combined with rolling snares and deft filtered drops and builds, it makes for a killer club techno track. It's no wonder that DJs as diverse as Sasha and Marco Bailey are supporting this release.

Review: With releases notched up on Naked Lunch, Suara and Sleaze, DJ Dextro now drops a dance floor-focused EP for KD Raw. The title track is a lithe but effective banger that resounds to insistent vocal samples and insistent, looped chords. On "Gerundio", Dextro goes darker and deeper; centred on a nocturnal bass and razor-sharp hi hats, the underlying sense of otherworldliness is augmented by eerie soundscapes. Shifting style again, "Work This PXXX" sees Dextro draw inspiration from Chicago ghetto techno as he lays down a slamming rhythm and a suggestive vocal sample, with all of these elements making for a primal, peak time affair.
