Review: NYC veteran Sanchez comes to Manchester's Kaluki label with two fine house jams. It's so subtly done that you might not notice at first, but 'Be So Deep' is based around a couple of vocal snips from Odyssey classic 'Inside Out', looped up and placed atop a backing comprising shufflin' beats, an understated bassline and insistent but not in-your-face organs. 'Places', meanwhile, plumps for more straight-up driving 4/4s, a hefty b-line, old skool Chicago synths and, rather oddly, part of the lyric to Inner City's 'Good Life' spoken by a male voice. And both cuts have the kind of class that only 25 years in the game can confer!

Ki Creighton feat Shyam P
Review: Annan's Ki Creighton is resident DJ at Carlisle's Uber club and runs the respected Under No Illusion imprint - which in recent times has delivered wicked music by Jay De Lys, Yost Koen and Cloonee. He strikes out on his own here for Manchester's Kaluki with a bit of help from Shyam P on "Night Owl" - a serving of bouncy and pop-inflected tech house in the vein of Hot Creations or Repopulate Mars. There are some terrific remixes included worthy of your attention too: Secondcity's extended remix is tough rolling groove action for the main room at peak-time, while Jansons extended remix is a right banger featuring a powerful rhythm section reaching near tribal moments.

Review: Domingo Bellot is De La Swing, the Barcelona based rising star who is ElRow resident and has appeared everywhere from Deeperfect, Glasgow Underground and Material. "Give Me Time" is tough and rolling tech house for the main room, while Hot Creations stalwart wAFF injects it with some latin flair later. "Blow My Mind" is a gutsy and fierce stomper that will provide equal peak time artillery and if that wasn't enough: label head honchos Pirate Copy deliver a fine rendition too.

Review: Manchester's Kaluki music are back and present Leeds boy and rising star Jey Kurmis this time, Kurmis has had a run of killer releases on Hot Creations, Moonharbour and Exploited of late. Kurmis' brand of druggy Late night groove is in fine form on this ep. The wobbly and trippy title track is redolent of mid noughties freak'n chic while "Margot" is proper and gutsy dance floor fodder with its grinding arpeggio bassline doing the business.

Review: Manchester's Kaluki Music are back and this time with London tech house heroes Leftwing & Kody who really cannot put a foot wrong these days and following in form is this collection of killers on the Sub Syndrome EP. First up the title track is just made of peak time main room mayhem on The White Isle with its bad rolling, tough shuffling groove plus the right amount of darkness. Next up "Binary" with its hands in the air melody and pitch shifted vocal samples gets even more druggy and adrenalised and perfect to make that transition in your set: taking them higher! Finally "I See You" is more functional and hypnotic to take it down a notch, but still holds the suspense; the bass on this one absolutely blows the doors off too!
