The Breeze (original mix) - (7:54) 124 BPM
Review: Kerri Chandler continues to mine the untapped depths of his musical vaults and here serves up a third dose of previously unreleased gems. Chandler first offers up 'Let It (Give Me Back My Love)', a typically joyful, hip-swinging and effortlessly groovy chunk of vocal deep house featuring Abbie Lee, before reaching for fluid piano motifs, super-soulful male vocals (possibly his own) and Kenny Dope style broken house beats on 'Another Dawn'. 'The Bassline (Kerri's Dark Mix)' is a moody, percussive and infectious slab of early morning house, while 'The Breeze (Original Mix)' is a drum machine driven box jam that deftly showcases Chandler's immense skill as a beat programmer.

Review: The legendary Kerri Chandler and his Kaoz Theory label (ode to that priceless 1998 album) turns in a remix and dub package of Antonio Deep Scarano & Toshi's "Kuyo (In Everything)". For the uninitiated ADS is an Italian house music industry man known for his collaborative streak - hooking up with vocalist Toshi for a second time here. With the Kerri Chandler touch, the duo's infectious single gets a full remix treatment that across the board draws upon the purest of house sentiments, meant for warm and worldly times, taking in '90s new age and piano house with percussion, drum machines and basslines to boot. Chandler of course goes large but not OTT in his vocal and dub mixes, next to a pumping warehouse version by Antony Reale, Pietro Nicosia's clubby tribalisms and Salvatore Oppio's barqoue remake too!

In My Body's House (original mix) - (7:07) 126 BPM
Get Back To The Phonk (Josh Butler remix) - (5:34) 125 BPM
Review: Following a two-year gap in which he focused on his House Puff and Rutilence labels, Parisian house stalwart DJ Steaw returns to Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory imprint. The three original cuts on show are prime Steaw: rock-solid, high-grade house workouts full of audible nods to the halcyon days of US house in the nineties and early noughties. The headline attraction is 'Get Back To The Fonk', a bumpin', spacey and tactile chunk of peak-time ready deep house haziness blessed with plenty of percussive funk. Kaoz Theory regular Josh Buttler remixes, opting for a more loose-limbed rhythm track, echoing melodic snippets and cut-up, garage-style vocal samples. Elsewhere, 'In My House' is an organ and synth-sax-sporting slab of '90s New Jersey nostalgia and 'Don't Stop' is gently acid-flecked deep house hypnotism.

Calling Fools Gold - (6:53) 132 BPM
Scorpio Swinger - (6:15) 133 BPM
Eyes Wide - (5:35) 129 BPM
Review: She's got her own show on Rinse FM but this appears to be West London lass Scarlett O'Malley's first dip of the toe into release waters, and she can consider this writer's interest well and truly piqued! 'Say Yes To The Groove' ploughs a mid-90s house furrow à la 'Ultra Flava' or 'Let's Groove', 'Calling Fools Gold' is a more driving, eyes-down houser with rave-y whoops and FX, 'Scorpio Swinger' sounds like 1992 rave, speed garage and drum & bass ALL AT ONCE, while finally 'Eyes Wide' takes the kind of jerky, cut-up approach to garage that was once all label boss Kerri Chandler's own. Outstanding stuff!

You Are In My System (Faster Horses Sport mix) - (6:48) 140 BPM
You Are In My System (DQ dub) - (5:33) 128 BPM Hot
Review: Kerri Chandler, Dennis Quin, and Troy Denari unite to breathe fresh life into the iconic 1998 hit "You're In My System". This modern take on a house music classic sees Chandler revisiting his own work, collaborating once more with vocalist Troy Denari and Dutch artist Dennis Quin. They've meticulously reworked and replayed the entire composition using the same hardware as the original, and Denari's vocals beautifully reimagine the essence of the 1980s hit by The System. Chandler's signature soulful keys, Quin's crisp drum work, and Denari's modern soulful vocals blend seamlessly in this dynamic future classic, primed for late-summer dancefloors and beyond. For those craving a raw groove, Dennis Quin's "DQ Dub" offers an equally enticing alternative.

Chess (original mix) - (6:03) 127 BPM
Review: Fresh from fine (if arguably a bit overlooked) outings onKenja, ORIGINS RCRDS and Snatch, Josh Butler returns to Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory label for a four-track hook-up with vocalist Josh Daniel. They hit the ground running with 'Be There (Extended Mix)', a classy vocal deep house number with added low-end weight and drowsy electric piano lines aplenty, before dropping a locked-in, late-night dub of the same track that reminded us of some of Kerri Chandler's most magical moments. 'Piranha (Deep Dub)' dips the tempo and ups the breakdown factor in a bid to provide the perfect dawn dancefloor soundtrack, while 'Chess (Original Mix)' opts for a more loose-limbed house groove and slowly unfurling melodic motifs.

Apple Eyes - (8:11) 122 BPM
Good Vibration - (8:03) 125 BPM
Around Five - (7:51) 124 BPM
Review: Five slices of deep house here from Italian veteran Tuccillo. 'The Waves' itself kicks things off with a nagging bass throb, various chopped-up vocal snips and hats galore, before things take a turn for the mellower with the fine old school chords of 'Breaking Leds'. 'Apple Eyes' stays in this deeper furrow and is built for eyes-down small-hours groovin', while 'Good Vibration' is a tad struttier and funkier - providing the perfect lead-up to 'Around Five', which packs some seriously dark, heavy bass. All five are plenty playable but 'Breaking Leds' nudges it for this writer, with 'Around Five' taking the silver.

Review: Kerri Chandler's first album of original productions since 2008 is an epic in every sense of the word: a vast, 24-track excursion recorded on location in a multitude of clubs around the world, with each track inspired by, and specifically designed to sound best inside, each of the selected venues. It's basically a love letter to some of his favourite clubs, created with guest vocalists and musicians, and is little less than a deep house masterpiece. There are far too many highlights to mention, but our current favourites include the bassbin-rattling bump of 'Subbie (Jackpot Mix) [Sub Club]', the heart-aching soulful house brilliance of 'Back To Earth [Knockdown Center]', the sax-sporting funkiness of 'The Morning Heat [La Grange]', the sunrise-ready beauty of 'Who Knows [Barbarellas]' and the Berlin-friendly deep house hypnotism of 'Sunrise [Watergate]'.

Review: On the fourth and final sampler for his forthcoming Spaces & Places album, Kerri Chandler serves up another big batch of tracks inspired by, and - using his slimmed-down mobile studio - recorded in, some of the world's best clubs. As you'd expect given the New Yorker's decades of experience, the quality threshold remains dizzyingly high throughout, though there are undoubtedly standouts. 'Sunrise [Watergate]' is magical: a hypnotic, locked-in-treat tailor-made for the acclaimed Berlin venue capable of sending shivers down the spines of even the most sober of dancers. In contrast, DJ Deep's delicious 'Son & Dad Edit' of the bluesy 'Dirty [Rex]' is a guitar-solo laden nod to St Germain classic 'Alabama Blues', while Chandler's 'Again Mix' of the Ministry of Sound-inspired Dreamer G collaboration 'Hurry Up' is a chunky, piano-laden classic-in-waiting with soulful touches aplenty and a thoroughly memorable bassline. The full album, which Chandler mixed in Dolby Atmos, will be a real treat.

Review: More from Kerri Chandler's forthcoming Spaces & Places album, which sees the legendary U.S house producer record tracks inside - and in tribute to - some of the world's most renowned club spaces. Like its predecessors, this third sampler is an expansive and action-packed affair. Chandler first pays tribute to Ibizan superclub DC10 on the deep acid house wiggle of 'Feeling Red', before channelling the spirit of Sir Henry's on the intergalactic bounce of 'Keep One (But Do It Again)'. His tribute to Croatian open-air club Barbarella's, 'Who Knows' (featuring Dora Dora) is a breezy, sunrise delight, while 'Industria' is a locked-in big room roller and Club Qu tribute 'The Calling' is a glistening, life-affirming Afro-house delight. Top notch tackle from Chandler all told.

Star Steady - (7:17) 128 BPM
Review: Paris-based DJ Steaw may not exactly be a household name but he's no newbie, having made his debut on criminally overlooked French label Qalomoto Records back in the late 00s. And that experience shows, on an EP that starts off well and then gets better as it goes along! The title track blends acid house with just a hint of Balearica, while 'Dance To The Rhythm' is a garage-tinged deep house shuffler. But things really pick up for this reviewer once we get to the sheer retro New Jersey organ vibes of 'I Can't Feel It' and the headfried small-hours workout that is 'Star Steady', for which my notes read simply "Immense". Excellent work.

See The Light [Lux Fragil] (dub) - (8:16) 124 BPM
Review: On this second, more expansive sampler for his forthcoming album Spaces & Places, Kerri Chandler treats us to tracks inspired by - and via the wonders of mobile recording technology, produced inside - clubs including Dublin's District 8, Glasgow institution Sub Club, Lux of Lisbon and NYC's Output. Of course, the standard is uniformly high throughout - it's classic Chandler from start to finish - but our picks of a very fine bunch include the soulful piano house shimmer of 'Change Your Mind'; the thrusting, bass-heavy pump of 'Subbie (Rattle The Subbie Mix)'; the effortlessly slick and soulful 'Tenacity (Full Vocal Mix)'; and the ludicrously sub-heavy snap of 'See The Light (Dub)'. To borrow an old clich?, this is very much, 'all killer, no filler'.

Review: Soon Kerri Chandler will drop his first album in 14 years, Spaces & Places, a set recorded "on location" with the veteran producer taking a mobile studio to some of the world's most lauded and inspiring clubs. This album sampler boasts vocal and instrumental takes on two of the hottest tracks from the set. First up is 'Never Thought', a wonderfully rolling, bumping and extra-percussive affair recorded at London's Printworks that's rich in deep analogue bass, layered drums and effortless piano motifs. 'You Get Lost In It', a more melodious, warming and soulful number, sounds tailor-made not only for the Warehouse Project in Manchester, where it was recorded, but also 4am dancefloors the world over.

Into The Night (original mix) - (7:48) 124 BPM

Review: Kerri Chandler has released so much music over the years - all of it either good or excellent - so it figures that his archive of unreleased jams would be full of genuine gems. It is of course, as this collection of previously unheard productions from the late '90s and early 2000s proves. He first unfurls 'What Shall We Do', a sturdy but snappy New Jersey deep house number rich in attractive organ stabs, warming bass and bluesy lead vocals from Grampa, before unveiling the squelchy acid bass, dreamy pads, colourful melodic flourishes and loved-up harmony vocals of 'Tonight'. 'Into The Night' is a beefier, bolder and weightier slab of intergalactic peak-time deep house, while 'This & That' manages to be both funky, jazzy, loose-limbed and stuttering - a remarkable achievement in anyone's book.

Review: Stone-cold legend Kerri Chandler gets his gospel on here, as he joins forces with preacher Rev F.L Brown to deliver a typically luscious slab of deep house/piano house/trad US garage fusion that's every bit as life-affirming and righteous as you'd expect. Alongside Chandler's orginal vocal and instrumental mixes (the latter featuring more space for his dazzling keyboard solos), you'll find a swathe of peak-time-ready reworks that are worth your attention. Our picks include the Jerome Sydenham style 'Feel Mix' (check the killer tech-tinged bassline), the deeper, looser and warmer 'Kaoz Vocal Mix' and the tracky, locked-in '623 Again Vocal Mix', which sounds tailor-made for after-hours clubs and early morning sets.

Review: Last year Kevin Pierre AKA Demuir made headline-grabbing appearances on Hot Creations, Desolat and Robsoul Recordings. Here he belatedly kick-starts his 2020 campaign with another high profile release, this time on Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory imprint. The Toronto-based producer kicks things off with the sunny soulful house chunkiness of "Lusting U", where Bluey Robinson's effortlessly soulful lead vocal rides a chunky, synth bass-propelled good-time groove. It feels like a summer anthem in waiting. Just as impressive is "Espiritual", a sprightly, synth-laden slab of fireside-warm Latin house bounciness that comes in both vocal and dub mix forms.

Review: With past releases on Rebirth, Atal and his own Krome label, Lyon's Klement Bonelli has been rather quiet in recent years on the musical front, but he is now back with a vengeance! This release on Kerri Chandler's mighty Kaoz Theory is absolute proof of that. The Quattrocento EP features two sublime and majestic cuts, from the deeply hypnotic tunnel vision of "Majeer" which is reminiscent of Swedish maestro Sebastian Mullaert's work, while the restrained mentalist drive of "Inaktiv" will no doubt bear comparisons to the work of Croatian legend Petar Dundov with its razor sharp and entrancing use of melody.

Review: Up next on Kerri Chandler's acclaimed imprint is the highly lauded Canadian act Art Department. Now solely comprised of Jonny White since the departure of Torontonian veteran Kenny Glasgow, the No. 19 Music boss has certainly changed his tune since going solo: The Breeding Ground EP's first two tracks "Industry" and "Exit To Eden" are tough rolling, roughed-up and well functional tools that take their cues from the current sound of UK tech house. He then goes stateside on the emotive deepness of 'Boa" which no doubt got the stamp of approval from Chandler himself as it follows in the man's own idiosyncratic style.

Save The Rave EP
Save The Rave (original mix) - (6:29) 124 BPM
Save The Rave (Djebali remix) - (7:28) 125 BPM Hot
Diving In Oasis - (7:17) 124 BPM
Review: Stephane Ghenacia and Thomas Roland want to "Save The Rave". To that end, they've put together this attractive and club-ready EP. The original version of their party-championing title track is a wonderfully low-slung and bass-heavy affair, with all manner of weird noises and late night electronic melodies clustering around a relentless, punk-funk style bassline and loose, hissing machine percussion. Prolific French producer Djebali opts for a tighter - but no less groovy and bass-heavy - vibe on his hypnotic Parisian tech-house take on "Save The Rave", before Ghenacia and Roland return to wrap spacey chords and evocative vocal samples around a bustling drum machine rhythm on dreamy closer "Diving in Oasis".

For The Love Of Kaoz EP

Tuesday Record Shopping In Paris - (7:29) 125 BPM Hot
Gaurdian - (6:48) 127 BPM
Cavalier Drums - (6:09) 130 BPM
Review: French house master DJ Deep has always had a knack for associating himself with the very best from the dance game. Throughout the 00s, you could find him chilling on Tresor or up on the Distance label, but his speciality was certainly spinning records. In fact, that's how he struck up a relationship with NYC's mighty Kerri Chandler, going on to form a long-lasting relationship that would land him on Deeply Rooted House and, as of now, Kaoz Theory. For The Love Of Kaoz is a tripped-out pile of percussive dance sketches, all wrapped up in a noticeably tribalistic sort of flair. "Thai" and "Tuesday Record Shopping In Paris" are slower, more warm-up pieces, while "Guardian" and Cavalier Drums" pump out that classic DEEP sound we all know and love...pushing it far and hard.

Review: Chandler originally released Pianos back in 2005. Based upon the seminal Steve Reich minimalist composition of the same name, it saw the US producer fuse the experimental artist's melodic flourishes with the driving rhythms of house music. On this latest version, the original track's soaring strings and insistent groove are available in their full 12-minute plus glory. Chandler has also tapped some well-known contemporaries to rework it. Loco Dice's take is quite different from the original, with a dubby, bumping rhythm and scratchy riffs combining to create a version that shares the same repetitive aesthetic as Reich. Stephanie Ghenacia's take is deeper, with hypnotic keys unfolding over rolling drums as cosmic sounds flit about overhead. Both are fitting tributes to Chandler's pioneering vision.

Review: Experienced tech-house producer Josh Butler has been rather prolific of late. Amazingly, this outing on Kaoz Theory is his fourth EP of 2017, and we're barely five months into the year. The headline attraction is undoubtedly "Sunday Club", a bouncy, peak-time slammer complete with crackly high-end percussion, bowel-bothering sub-bass and mind-altering electronic riffs. There's still much to enjoy elsewhere, though, from the bustling percussive bounce and cut-up vocal samples of "Tracks", to the basement-bothering late night throb of "Jackal". Also worth checking is Seb Zito's deep, warm and woozy remix of "Sunday Club".

512 Jam - (5:54) 124 BPM Hot
Dubmatica - (8:05) 123 BPM
Review: The latest release on Kaoz Theory features new music from Satoshi Tomiie, the veteran Japanese house DJ. One of label owner Kerri Chandler's contemporaries, Tomiie shows that he has developed as an artist on "Dubmatica". The rhythm is steely, the percussion raw and hissing and the tonal bleeps plunge to the deepest frequencies. It makes for an irresistible piece of futuristic techno. However, Tomiie has not forgotten his New York house roots either; "512 Jam" resounds to tough, rolling drums, screeching FX and the kind of deranged organ riffing that used to feature on Nu Groove releases. Despite the passage of time, some things never change.

Review: Kerri Chandler has long been an enthusiastic supporter of Benson Herbert and Leo Pickings' Voyeur project. He's already put out their singles on Madtech and Madhouse, and here brings them to his newest label, Kaoz Theory, in order to release their debut album. It's a pleasingly varied and assured set, too, moving from string-drenched, cinematic moods, to shuffling, atmosphere-rich tech-house, via African influenced tribal workouts, woozy downtempo hip-hop instrumentals, and dreamy, jammed-out deep house. Despite this eclecticism, it hangs together impressively thanks to Herbert and Pickings' assured use of mood and melody. File under: quietly impressive.

Review: Somewhat remarkably, it's been two years since the last single from former Get Physical and Crosstown Rebels producer Just Be. Here he re-emerges on Kerri Chandler's tech-house focused Kaoz Theory imprint. "Snakes In The Bed" is an excellent example of the London producer's work. Tiptoeing the fine line between European darkness, Visionquest style powder house and the sort of stretched-out moodiness that was once Danny Tenaglia's trademark, the track quietly rises and falls in all the right places. The accompanying remix comes from Magda, who retains the shuffling percussion while adding a killer, acid-inspired sub-bass line.

Review: Alexandre Paounov aka French producer Popof is probably more known for his releases on imprint Heretik (which he runs) not to mention appearing on a who's who of labels from Hot Creations and Turbo to Cocoon. He now appears on Kerri Chandler's newly formed Kaoz Theory with the One Chance In Three EP. First up is the title track which gets straight down to business on this tribal house journey reminiscent of classic west coast tech house of the late nineties. "Summer Passion" or "Record In" (which is particularly sexy/funky) are more classic NYC deep house jams reminiscent of label boss himself Chandler or the legendary Mr V, with some very cool and inspirational lyrics.

Review: He's Hot Natured, tres Freak 'N Chic (once upon a time) but now he's gonna raise Kaoz on the dancefloor: business as usual from the UK tech house legend Jamie Jones. It's more of the smooth and slinky house you'd expect from Bangor's finest on "Illicit Behaviour" often copied but never matched. He ups the ante on next track "New Skool Acid" which is much more fierce and funky. This dirty and druggy shuffler is definitely for the peak time. There's a bunch of killer remixes of said track too: we're particularly feeling Matthias Tanzmann's rendition where the Leipzig legend gives it a dark and atmospheric makeover for late night sleaze. Stephane Ghenacia's however is smooth and sultry deep house for chilled Sunday sessions with floating pads, bumpy bass and lush Rhodes keys doing all the right things.
