Let Me Ken (V.I.C.A.R.I. dub mix) - (8:00) 126 BPM
Bing Pow Boom Bing - (5:01) 128 BPM
Wonky - (7:59) 126 BPM
Review: We jump from Venice to Edinburgh on this one as Laurence Nolan teams up with Italian imprint: Kina for his long awaited 'Tackle' EP. We begin with the smooth chord waves of 'Wonky' before rolling effortlessly into the deeper, UKG inspired rhythms of 'Let Me Ken'. From here we traverse into the more upbeat rework of 'Let Me Ken', put together by V.I.C.A.R.I. with some seriously flavoursome twists. The intensity remains high as we move into the housey pressure of 'Bing Pow Boom Bing' before we round off with the slower lofi progressions of 'Bad Times' calling time on a very impressive project from the Scot.
Sometimes I'm Not The One (Ittetsu remix) - (8:52) 127 BPM
Be Another - (7:40) 125 BPM
Review: Ukranian minimal techno hero Yaroslav Lenzyak is up next for German label Kina with "Sometimes I'm Not The One", a reduced acid groove with hypnotic elements that's very much suited to mind melting after-hours moments. There's a great remix up next by Japanese producer/DJ in London: Nobuo Ittetsu, who gives it more of a main room shuffle and follows up great releases recently for the likes of Eastenderz. Back over to Lenzyak on "003", a deep dub techno journey straight into the void and finally "Be Another" which goes for that deeply brooding and ethereal Romanian sound that's just perfect for drifting and wonderful mind games!
