Review: While many folk went and got a dog during lockdown, yung Teezy here went and made his own 'Puppy'. Much cleaner than a mutt that bites all your furniture and makes a mess everywhere, this puppy growls softly and jumps buoyantly over the chiselled beats. There are plenty more dogs in the kennel, too; 'Denial' is a sleek Doberman of a tune, all pointy, pacy and tense, 'Heaven' is a golden retriever, all sweet when it wants to be but deep down a working dog , 'Bass In Ya Head' is a loyal staffy, all bubbly and up for mischief while 'Acknowledge' is a Dachshund, all snake like and with a bassine that yaps away cheerily before 'Rolling Deep' roars in like a rottweiler, all beefy and bulky but doesn't have to say much to make its presence know. You gonna bark all day little doggy?

Review: Following a whole slew of releases on labels such as Pick The Lock, Debunked, Allstars, Liondub International in recent months, Teezy returns to Kingpin, one of the earliest labels to support his music, with this high grade four-piece collection. Forever fine-tuning his precision produced sound, here we find him in a wide range of flavours... 'Reboot' takes us deep into the future with a sonorous, tubular bassline, 'Status' flexes Teezy's minimal muscles with dramatic effect while 'Confront' goes for that dirtier funk flavour. Finally 'Profound' closes the EP on a mean and moody one. Classic Teezy tactics. Reboot and play all over again.

Review: You know a young artist is one to keep close tabs on when they're linking up with Skibadee. Such is the case with young Pengo, a fast-rising artist who's best known for his killer shows on Rough Tempo. Already boasting collabs with the likes of GLM, Hyn and Amplify, 'Shots' is his third co-lab with the pioneering MC and arguable his best so far. It's backed up by a whole truck-load of trouble; the Magenta collab 'Blast' is a lesson in space and tension, 'Hitters' is all growl and grit, 'Back & Forward' is an all-out moaner with very trippy tendencies while 'Bass Addict' (with Master Error) is all about the drama and theatre. Last but not least 'Dot To Dot' pays homage to the jungle foundations with some crucial bars from NV. Shots fired!

Review: Feel the 'Love', show some 'Love', it must be 'Love'... Kenna lays some serious heat down on Kingpin right here with six moments of pure late night naughtiness. 'Love' takes a classic vocal sample and flips it into smithereens over a rasping, high voltage bass design. Guaranteed to have your floor popping, it's backed up by five more dastardly cuts. Highlights include the graveyard stalking funk of 'Cuhulin', the slug-like bass sludge of 'Give' and the heavy tension of 'Sound Boy'. We 'Love' this one.

Review: Following 4K and MCM's excellent release in January, Kingpin continue striding into 2022, kicking everyone and everything in their path with their massive DNBA Award nominated size 12s, with Kanobie's first full paid release. Already renowned for his awesome Soundcloud output and his label Faded, now comes more heavy artillery from the big man in the form of this six track EP. Highlights include the rolling, greasy, grunty funk of 'Takeover', the delicious contrast between pure euphoria and absolute stinkage on the twisted sensations of 'Osmosis' and the purring sternness of Foxi on 'Strut'. Eternal feels for this one.

As the name suggests, 'Solitude' is a deeply introspective piece of work that's reminiscent of works by the likes of Camo & Krooked or Keeno as we're drawn into the track by the musicality and reflective moments of space, but we're kept there with the dynamic production and floor-ready heaviness. Review: Following releases on DNB Allstars and Wonky Goose in the last few months, DRZ now lands on ever ready frontline imprint Kingpin Production with this XL-sized EP. Taking a leaf out of the Imanu book, there's a strong emotional theme running throughout the release with trippy clipped synths, intriguing glitches and dreamy vocal textures appearing throughout. With vibes ranging from the cloud jumping delights of 'Desire' to the much darker and stripped back 'Break Me' (with Teezy) and machine gun like bassline of 'Scatter', this is an exciting showcase from a promising new talent.

Review: Slice some BisonUK ! Once again the Devon darksmith rises on Kingpin with a clutch of MC-focused big bassline tear-ups. Everything is a highlight: the maximum wobble and purring vox from Bandit on 'Nice One', the bashy cuts and twisted flow from Coco on 'Standard', the pulse-x beat and savage spittage from Killa P and SBK on 'Street Sweepa', the head-melting warped bassline and Slay's pressure on 'How I Do It' and the epic finale slaps and slams of 'Hearse' with none other than David Boomah. Boy this EP is big. Nice one bruva.

Review: If you've ever thought that D&B is missing its contingent of psychedelic labrats then MCM is here with the zoot-bunning lyrical flavours you require. Spitting big man bars over a crucial minimal jump-up blend from 4K, it's dark and devious affair as MCM goes in on the fakers. Hungrier for an instrumental?
