Review: Last spotted on various Liondub International VA collections, the currently unstoppable B-Plexx makes his full EP debut on the US label with these four fiery bruisers. 'Voodoo' stirs up some serious black magic to set the scene. Tight drums, groaning basses and an ice cold sample, it leaves us under no illusion as to what's next... 'Artillery' is all about those buzzy high frequency licks, 'Displacement' is a wonky old affair that you could imagine someone like Tyke or Hazard dropping at 6am and twisting minds while 'Power Of Mind' closes on a dark, demonic tip. Review: When you see a lineup of this quality coming together, especially at the pleasure of Liondub International, you know you are in for a bit of a treat to say the least. The ferocious combination of Badda General & P Skinna are out in full force for the fiery sounds of 'Kickers', a bundle of asian-inspired melodies and dancehall drum slaps, tied together with potent bassline progressions and intricate rhythms. The stuttering string plucks are even more potent when we then take in the official instrumental version, making this another very strong addition to the Liondub International catalogue.

Review: Bassface Sascha and DJ Phlex are back on the fast-moving train that is jump-up and once more, they've proven adept at bringing to the fore some forward-thinking sounds in that regard. They're a name we know and the name of this release - Pioneers - hints at their long-standing role and is certainly a promising sign. Glitchy and with a satisfying sense of lagged out travel, 'Frozen Solid' starts strong and certainly bites hard, doing so in a fresh, unique manner. 'Burst a Bubble' is step-up in sophistication and nastiness, a snappy, stepping drum line pushing up into its metallic bottom line, this one is a proper creeper and it's such a shame that it won't be heard in the rave anytime soon.

Review: Blackout Ja has teamed up with label boss Liondub for a dubby (no surprises there) double sided outing on an imprint which bears all the hallmarks of a classic UK label, with jungle, drum & bass and dub music intertwined the whole way. This respect for the history is apparent on Rize Again, as two loping, plodding cuts of funky, upbeat music come at you with the grace of a stoner and the enthusiasm of one too. The title track is lovely in its percussion and Blackout Ja has nailed the dancehall vibe on the vocal line - you won't forget this one.

Review: It's been a hot minute since we last saw a brand new dancehall project that excited us as much as this one as Blackout JA teams up with Liondub International for a twelve track selection, channeling dancehall music into 2021. The list of collaborators for this one is the first thing that stands out for us, with the likes of Daddy Freddy, Ranking Joe, Blakkamoore, Echo Minott, Sophia May, YT, Ricky T & a bag more all getting involved with wicked contributions. It's an album that represents why dancehall still holds a key place in dance music in 2020. There are a couple of clear highlights for us across this release, with 'Love Dancehall' alongside Navigator & Sophia May being a really cool throwback to the original toasted dancehall sound, followed up by the super crunchy arrangements of 'Hidden Truth' with Souls Liberation providing a perfect outro track.

This latest drop from Capital D is an excellent example of that in action as the devilish vocal tones and grizzly 808 pulses of 'No Time' kick us off with a bang', followed by the rolling trap-style drums and typically bashment-influenced chord stabs of the title track 'Boiling Hot', topped off again by Capital D's instantly recognizable vocal tones. From here, 'Danger Business' utilizes a steel-drum driven instrumental construct, giving us some sunshine singalong flavour, before 'Have Some Fun' gives us the most uplifting creation of them all for the perfect closer. Review: Next up from the ever-ready Liondub International, a throwback filled to the brim with lethal flavours as Conrad Subs touches down to deliver four tracks of pure dancefloor fire. We open up with the unpredictable synthetic twitches and reesey rumbles of 'Rave Report', setting the tone of the project nicely before 'Dough' gives us a more minimal fusion of growling bass notes and sharpened drum designs. Review: Featuring a debut vocal appearance from original ragga badman Daddy Freddy, Liondub presented the talents of Mexican producer Isaac Maya earlier this year. Returning to the scene with remix pressure from Nu Elementz and Profile and Portugal's own Dirty Skank Beats, the digital carnage unfurls with Nu Elementz and Profile's remix, which opens in a classic reggae style that turns dirty in all the best jump-up ways. The next reinterpretation is left to Dirty Skank Beats, who removes the original production entirely and replaces it with down and dirty heaviness and hard hitting horns, leaving the majority of the vocals intact. Nicely does it.

Review: International bass music label Liondub presents the second single taken from DJ Hybrid's forthcoming full length LP titled Diary Of An Everyday Junglist. The full LP has been lovingly crafted by him over the last two years, and features a stunning array of collaborators. The single in question is titled "Diggin Through The Archives" where the Coventry-based producer serves up the main mix, which is an old school flavoured junglist roller featuring the talented Taja on the mic, followed by a handy instrumental version. As a bonus, you are also treated to the emotive darkside stepper "No Way" (2021 remix) calling to mind classic Marcus Intalex.

Review: Dear Diary, today we received a copy of DJ Hybrid's long-awaited debut album Diary Of An International Junglist on Liondub International. It's 20 tracks fat and, as you'd expect from such a prolific and hard working artist, it's well worth the wait. Featuring collabs with the likes of Rider Shafique, Diligent Fingers, Madrush MC, Redders and MC Foxy, there's a lot of next level action to unpack but instant head-slicers include the space age purrs and twists of 'Find Your Way', the menacing darkness and sparse funk of 'Pull Out Ya Piece' and the bouncing and swagger of 'Live For Yourself.' These are just some the many stand-out bangers from an album by one of the scene's most consistent leading lights in the last 10 years. Made for junglists, by a junglist. It doesn't get better than this.

Review: As if launching his debut album on his own label Boom 93 this month wasn't quite enough action from Brighton's DJ Hybrid, he's also back on Liondub International with Martial Taktics and MC Foxy on this bouncy, Trex-style bubbler. Complete with OG Foxy doing the business on mic, it's another instant classic from one of the hardest working men in jungle. For good measure he's remixed his and Haribo's 2018 Liondub smoking jam 'Stay High' into a riffy Serum-style chest-ratter. All done in his own unique and vibey way, Hybrid records are impossible to sleep on. Them's the rules.

Review: Dub Force teams up with longtime Ray Keith cohort Bladerunner on this latest slice of junglist action from the Liondub crew. No surprises here as we are taken deep in with the familiar "Jah Jah is coming" sample offset with some seriously hefty bass pressure and liberally sprinkled hectic amens on "Jah Jah Dub". "Give Me Your Love" slows the pace with hammond organ, reggae chops and dubwise samples all framing a Lover's Rock style yearning vocal and oscillating bass. One for the jungle soldiers.
