Review: Following on from his debut album on Russian label Liquid Brilliance, Shaika Ninja returns with this excellent breaks album of 16 short beats - perfect for chopping, juggling and scratching DJs. Samples from b-boy classics like Lowell Fulsom' "Tramp" are given some sly beefing up with kicks and snares to create a tight battle weapon and the soundtrack to get your windmill on.
Review: From Russian label Liquid Brilliants comes this first full-length release from Shalka Ninja who dices things up nicely on "Funky Hell". From sampling Madness over a moody intro to rocking funk horns on the good times-filled "Check It Out", the album is an eclectic treat. "Find Shluhy" uses big chunks of Reuben Wilson's version of "Inner City Blues" while "Let's Scream" cleverly chops up The JB's and arranges it over a tight, live-sounding drum break - just two highlights from a contagiously funky LP.
