Sugar - (4:54) 124 BPM
Played by: Jebar
Review: The prolific Sunset is back with two more retro-futuristic tracks for us to enjoy. The title track features swirly synthpools, skippy garage beats and droney bass. On the digital flip similar garage beats combine with ravey synth stabs to devastating effect.

Feel So High
It Gives Me - (5:31) 123 BPM
Played by: Jebar
Review: Having established themselves in the D&B world, Russian producers DK Foyer also run a fine line in funky, jacking house. And what a fine line it is: both these cuts slam and shudder with timeless house magic as "Feel So High" struts with big organ funk, while "It Gives Me" shakes with a vibesome classic vocal garage feeling. Elevation guaranteed: drop these and your entire dancefloor will feel rather high.

Review: Named after an influential counter-cultural tome, Invisible Landscape is a Russian D&B producer on a psychedelic mission. However, on this latest long player it seems that this mission now extends way beyond the D&B genre. "Hooligan Bliss" is an album bulging at the seams with funky, dubby, scratched-up party breaks that often throw in many a popular sample (Public Enemy, Apache etc) to ensure that the party never gets too serious. Good times!

Review: Following on from his debut album on Russian label Liquid Brilliance, Shaika Ninja returns with this excellent breaks album of 16 short beats - perfect for chopping, juggling and scratching DJs. Samples from b-boy classics like Lowell Fulsom' "Tramp" are given some sly beefing up with kicks and snares to create a tight battle weapon and the soundtrack to get your windmill on.

Review: From Russian label Liquid Brilliants comes this first full-length release from Shalka Ninja who dices things up nicely on "Funky Hell". From sampling Madness over a moody intro to rocking funk horns on the good times-filled "Check It Out", the album is an eclectic treat. "Find Shluhy" uses big chunks of Reuben Wilson's version of "Inner City Blues" while "Let's Scream" cleverly chops up The JB's and arranges it over a tight, live-sounding drum break - just two highlights from a contagiously funky LP.
