Review: What a fabulous box of treats to open as Liquid Drops move into their 10 year anniversary faze, celebrating that wonderful achievement with an even more wonderful collection of 22 hazey rollers. The liquid sound has become such a vast expanse for producers to explore, with this release being a great showcasing and representation of the liquid sound as a whole. Featuring the likes of Impression, Greekboy, MSdoS, Numeric Space and many more, the tracklisting is stacked with angelic episodes, entering into a spacey realm of blissful harmonic structure the further into the project we dive. For us, the clear stand outs of course include the almost game-theme-like bassline of Fishy & Antony G's 'Winter Skies', which despite its delicate nature packs a major low-ended punch. Next to this, the jazzy riffs of Soulec's 'Your Time Is Up', and stunning soundscapes of Twintone's 'Bound & Branches' also make our list of favourites, but we would genuinely recommend listening to the full project to appreciate it's true sonic beauty.

Review: When one ungoogleable artist remixes another: Mexican Viewer takes on Greek MsDoS for a collection of four soulful D&B reboots. 'Benefits' eases us in gently with its lilting pianos and sweeping cosmic pads teasing us with trace elements of disco, 'Dimensions' brings on the woozy jazzy textures while 'Japanese Connection' does beautiful things with the sampled vocal textures. Finally 'Talkin' About Ghetto' closes the EP with warm, loopy magic and more subtle piano soul.

Review: Liquid Drops Recordings out of London is a drum 'n' bass imprint that consistently delivers some of the best liquid & soulful tunes of the genre. Their latest comes from label staple mSdoS out from Athens, with a collection of remixes from the creme de la creme of d'n'b talent on Jungle Drops 30 Remixed. Highlights come from: Conrad Subs on the deep, emotive and sax-led remix of "Solo Jungle", FX909's remix gets that classic Marcus Intalex or Calibre vibe of old on "Far Away", while the dub Defense remix gets properly dancehall-wise on the sunny interpretation of "On The Dub" and true to the release's name we get a proper darkside expression in mid '90s breakbeat science courtesy of Greekboy who reworks "6 Point 3".
