Review: Foamplate returns to Magic Toast with a release that defies categorisation. Switching between genres and tempos, it belies the artist's hyperactive talent. "Multipass" is a mid-tempo dub techno track that resounds to evocative chords and a chugging bass, while "Overkiller" is a less musical, more bass-heavy take on this sound. At the other end of the sonic spectrum are the hyper-speed break beats and tinkling melodies of "Patter". Foamplate also embraces IDM influences on "Rarefaction", but in this instance, the focus is on glitchy, slow-paced drums and introspective melodies. Rounding off the release are the atmospheric melodies and throbbing back beats of "Land".
