Review: The prolific Noraj Cue returns to Manual Music, home to both the majority of the producer's cuts and a whole load of quality deep house and minimal techno. "Krankenhouse" is a pure A-side blaster, dishing out fast, driving beats alongside heavy sequences of bass, and it's masterfully remixed Tim Penner into a moodier, more swamped tech house number with rolling drums and a tribal edge. "Universal Love" is tamer, more joyous and brimming with lovely piano keys: Jaap Ligthart adds in a heavier percussion swing and more cinematic melodies on his reinterpretation. "Maybe Tomorrow" is the cherry on the cake, the devilish minimal nugget to lock your jaw into a twist. Crunch!

Review: South America has always been a vibrant scene for exciting new music, especially in techno and progressive as this debut album from Uruguay's Logiztik Sounds once again proves. Having featured on the likes of Global Underground, Vapour, and Sasha's emFire he is no stranger to the major leagues however this brilliantly produced collection of 11 tracks will be a real turning point. Deep, emotive, and melodic, his sound is clearly routed in techno yet with some fresh progressive twists being melted alongside to create a moving fusion. Check out tracks like 'Melancholy', and 'Keep Looking' both of which showcase his unique style best. Dive on into this and get blissfully lost in the music. There are plenty of floor worthy tracks throughout and it's at an un-missable price.

My Love
My Love - (6:59) 122 BPM Hot
My Love (Nuno Dos Santos remix) - (6:34) 122 BPM
My Love (Phonic Funk remix) - (8:15) 123 BPM
My Love (Phonic Funk dub) - (6:16) 125 BPM
Square 04 - (11:46) 125 BPM
Review: There's a near schizophrenic sensibility at play on My Love, with a wide range of genres covered. The title track would sit comfortably on a Traum or Border Community release, its cooing, lullaby melodies set to a soaring, euphoric bass. Nuno Dos Santos's take is tracky and rolling, but with the original melodies intact, while the Phonic Funk version opts for a radically different approach. Led by heavy drums and firing hats, its insistent chords move into a dramatic breakdown and in the process sound like classic mid-90s deep house. The Phonic dub version is different again, a more stripped back arrangement powered by a surging bass, while "Square 04" centres on a squelchy bass and acid licks.

From The Vaults
Examine - "33 Stand Alone" (Estroe remix) - (7:39) 126 BPM Hot
Tigerskin - "Morons We Are" (Qbical dub) - (8:23) 123 BPM
Qbical - "Venus" (Matthys remix) - (5:53) 126 BPM
Daniel Zuur - "Future Memory" - (6:38) 118 BPM
Zoutman - "River Ride" - (8:43) 126 BPM
Review: The common factor on this split release is a love of electronic melodies. It's clearly audible on Estroe's version of Examine's "33 Stand Alone", where crystalline synths and layered breakdowns are powered by a sinewy groove and heavy claps. Qbical's dub version of Tigerskin's "Morons We Are" is even more infectious with catchy vocodered vocals underpinned by filtered synth lines and incessant percussion. Meanwhile, Daniel Zuur trades on nostalgia with "Future Memory". Although based on a stripped back rhythm, the melodies are inspired by the heyday of 90s European trance, and are guaranteed to emit a spine-tingling response from veterans and first-timers alike.
