Review: Markus 'MarAxe' Axelsson has an impressive catalogue that includes releases on Naked Lunch and Beats HD. Now he brings his hard-edged sound to Lester Fitzpatrick's label. The title track sets the tone for the release. Layered percussion, vocal snippets and a dense, driving rhythm all come together to make for a contemporary take on loop techno. "Roundabout" follows in a similar vein. On this occasion, MarAxe integrates insistent hypnotic filters and looped chants into an angular, metallic groove. "Simultaneous" is darker and more menacing. Centred on a booming bass and pounding kicks, it still has that innate sense of funk that prevails throughout this release.
