Review: An interesting disco EP/mini-album here from Colombian producer Infrasoul, AKA Juan Acosta, in that many of the tracks pay homage to classic cuts without necessarily actually sampling or re-editing them. So Roy Ayers fans will spot the 'Ubiquity' bassline that underpins the glorious 'Too Good To You', a Brass Construction classic provides the inspiration for 'Got Myself Together', 'Gotta Move' rocks horn and organ parts based on Curtis Mayfield's 'Move On Up' and 'With Me' nods to Donna Summer's 'Bad Girls' in the guitar department. Whether the same applies to the horns-y 'Jungle Vibin' or the jazz-dance licks of 'The Freeplay' isn't entirely clear, but the latter is a killer either way.
