Review: With the summer moving rapidly through it's paces, Moveltraxx have once again delivered a heavyweight selection, this time launching their awesome 'TRAXXOLOGY' compilation, exploring a sunshine-fueled collection of dancefloor originals. We see the project explore numerous different areas, from the heavily sampled vocal chops of DJ Tameil's 'Rude Boy Giddy Up and Mighty Mark & TT The Artist's 'Say Yeah', through to the more disco-laced drives of Dudley Slang's 'Glaiatoreyz' or Househead Samira's 'Radio Safia'. The range is very impressive across this wicked 15 track collection, with our favourites including the warm chord lines of Lil 'Tal's Radio edit version of Paul Johnson's 'Dance With Me', next to the glittering landscapes of Kozee's 'Tropical Pizza'. Awesome work!

Review: Seeing the names Big Dope P and Moveltraxx in the same sentence is always going to be an exciting way to start the week, as we see the two entities combine for a sizzling thirteen track album, taking the title 'Mehlish'. This is a fantastic showcasing of just how creative people can get within the boundaries of the Juke / Footwork sound, from the rave-ready 4x4 thumps of 'Ride It' with TT The Artist & Feadz, to the more mechanical percussive displays of 'Ugly' with Mighty Mark and the epic 80's synth slides of 'Diaphane'. It's difficult to actually highlight a standout set, with the overall quality of this project being so high. One standout however has to be one of the bonus tracks entitled 'Presidential Pimping', which we can see working extremely well as a D&B double drop, utilizing regal sounding horn stabs and hard hitting drums to tremendous effect.

Review: With some classic '70s funk and soul inspirations giving a feel-good mood to this latest two-track burner from Moveltraxx upstart Alex Autajon, it's as if the artist her is channeling the French Touch sound of Star Dust's "Music Sounds Better With You" only connecting the dots via juke and footwork. "Discotajon" revels in sweeping filters, rolling pianos and punctuation of a pumping 909, with keys swapped out for horns in "Car Wash" that sees Autajon throw down pitch-lifted cruiser of uptempo, optimistic ghetto-fuelled beats. At the car wash!

Review: DJ Earl backs up his double drop for the Moveltraxx label last year with a deluxe version of his Bass & Funk & Soul album. Keeping up with favourite numbers like Bass & Funk & Soul opener "BAAAAAA" to the fandangled and nostalgic shapes of "SHITZ AIN'T SAFE NO MO" - what makes this version special are three new bonus jams! Starting with diss-track "Weak Ass Djz" and its descending footwork rhythm. "Babby 2010" sends in something classical, jazzed up and stepping, with "No Preach" flutey, detuned, vocal heavy and snapped out. Get loaded.

Review: Hot off a sweet set of footwork touting podcasts for the likes of Dekmantel and Resident Advisor, DJ Earl's Bass + Funk & Soul album lands with a boom! His first official LP release since his 2016 LP Open Your Eyes for Tek Life, Bass + Funk & Soul finds itself on Moveltraxx outta London following hits from Traxman and Paul Johnson. A record that will arguably go down as one of, if not, the best (if only freshest) footwork LP fo the year; it comes through the heaviness of tracks like "Ya Bish" to the future footfunk of "Wrk Dat Body". These find a place next to the slow and woozy vocals made twice and trippy by peaking bends of synth in "Get Smoked", while more wild and unique samples in tracks like "Baaaaaa" and "Off They Feet" match with other pitch shifting effects in "Right Dere". Dope tumbling 808 drums and percussion in "Whaaam" and more radically distorted pianos done elemental footwork style in "STL Breathin".

Review: Raw as F*ck juke and footwork here from Moveltraxx sampler Da Movelt Posse. Dance Mania OG DJ Nehpets lines up alongside label mate DJ Clent (Planet Mu) in turning out Lil Wayne's "6 Foot 7 Foot" while laying down some sex eduation juke and footwork style. Hyperdub signing Dj Tre turns in some heavy 808 kick drums tipped in vinyl crackle alongside the frenetic jazz and sample work of Boylan & J'Roc's heroic hip hop tricks in "Letz Rock". Da posse.

Review: As ever with the celebrated Moveltraxx imprint, we are absolutely thrilled to see what they have offered up as we dive into the latest four track collection from Amadeezy, showcasing his fantastic blend of juke and jungle themes. We kick this one off with the silky drum work and potent kicking rhythms of 'Go To Work', alongside the high energy drum processes and classic sampling of 'Let's Rock This Party'. We take a more melodic twist next as 'New Juke City' arrives with sweeping pad textures and piano chords, before we round the project up with the rapid fire kick shots and dominant sub-bass structures of the title track 'Deadly Disco Poison'. Lovely stuff.

Review: Now the last 12 months has been a very exciting time for the Moveltraxx imprint, who seem to just keep getting better and better. This latest display from Bastiengoat is a perfect example of their constant improvement as we dive into two incredibly well designed originals. First of all, 'Hexane' is unveiled with some seriously high energy levels, driven by murky sub textures and super skippy drum designs. On the flip side, 'Pentane' takes the form of a super speedy grimey roller, with high end synthesizer melodies and moogy bass tones, it's a livener for sure!

Review: 2019 saw a serious rise in the popularity of footwork and juke and if we are honest we can't see this new fascination slowing down any time soon, especially with labels such as Moveltraxx supplying compilations as good as this. Street Bangers Factory reaches number thirteen here, featuring six very tasty, high energy monsters, with a roster including Alex Autajon, Big dope P, Traxman, Selky and more. For us however there are a pair of clear highlighters, with DJ Manny's system ready 'Dance Flo' being ready to slap the sub out of any system and Househead Samira's 'Overalls' giving us a disco-ready funkathon.

Review: Bringing together a unique blend of experimental footwork and juke with IDM and leftfield techniques within a field of urban club music, France's Moveltraxx label has been slipping out a stream of music, all compiled here, from Canadian producers Text Chunk & Hood Joplin. The pair present a deeper, glitchy and vocal touched sound with streams of ambient pushing at the inner limits of deepness in "Stranger" to more melodic and uplifting two-step breaks in "Quadrant". The pair's killer footwork department is a highlight here with tracks "Keepflowin'" and "Black Twist Out" while more juke, drill and trap influences make it into "Do That Shit" and 'Lock Me Up".

Review: It's time to take it back to a more rave-ready time as we here see the combined talents of Traxman and DJ Deeon link together for a brand new heater, courtesy of Moveltraxx. This one takes the quite amusing title of 'Ball In Ya Mouf', which comes to the surface through some clever vocal looping, as the rest of the composition takes on a stripped back hardcore nature, focussing primarily on minimilst drum patterns and catchy bass grooves. You can safely say this one is unusual, but quite a lot of fun!

Review: We here see Moveltraxx return for another edition to their exciting 2019 catalogue, forever championing the experimental side of footwork and juke. They have gathered together a monumental track listing here as they invite in heavyweight footwork frontrunners such as Rashad, DJ Earl, Traxman, Naina, and more. This is definitely the sort of music you can see yourself whiling away the night to and the pounding percussive lines don't get repetitive. 'Voxpop' is one of the best, simply for the huge build on the second drop - very suspenseful stuff. The rest of the release is just as good we highly recommend it.

Review: After some killer cassette and vinyl action for the Jheri Tracks label, along with plenty of appearances on some collaborative releases, our boy Bastiengoat lands on the fine-ass Moveltraxx label with some of his tuned-up bass and footwork. "Give Me What You Need" is like Rashad on speed, stopping and starting the percussion with a dicey improvisation, whereas "I Can Tell" spins the beats in favour of some heart-breaking r&b vocals for the lovers. "Imma Dog" is another beast altogether, adopting a hard-edged hip-hop mentality with a gangsta style, and "Open Wide" adds a sci-fi layer to the equation, dropping fire left, right and centre. Killah business!

For the first edition, it's over to young french DJ/producer Alex Autajon. Alex is from Lyon and makes forward-thinking club tracks. After a few web releases he appeared on Moveltraxx "Street Bangers Factory" series. His work features skippy, syncopated beats with whirling synths, booty-claps, gunshots and weighty low-end. The mix features selected club hits and rare gems from the label to create this fire mix of hybrid club music featuring music from MikeQ, Feadz, Big Dope P, Nadus and many more.
