Review: The iconic 1983 track 'Dance Forever' by Gaucho has been given a fresh lease on life with the 2023 remastered edition, courtesy of Mr. Disc Organization. Gaucho, comprised of the renowned Italian producers Stefano Pulga, Luciano Ninzatti, and Bruno Bergonzi and brings their musical prowess to the forefront. 'Dance Forever!'; the mere title invites you to an eternal dance, and the music lives up to the promise. The relentless percussion beats and the ever-present synth form an irresistible backdrop that keeps the groove alive. This remastered release includes a remix crafted by the talented Musta and Stefano Ritteri. Their take on the track injects a newfound power, reinvigorating an already timeless classic.
Review: During the 1980s, Mr Disc Organization was one of Italy's leading disco imprints, offering up a mixture of hot new local productions and material licensed from American record labels. As the title states, this EP is the first volume in a multi-part series offering digital DJs the chance to get hold of some of the lesser-celebrated gems tucked away in its vast back catalogue. Up first is the early Italian house goodness of Moy Boy's tactile 'Notta Divina (Divine Version)', followed quickly by the cheery, synth-laden Italo-disco perfection of Jet Set's 'Love Dance'. Arguably even better is the M.B Edit of Jimmy Ross's low-slung dub disco number 'New York to Moscow', while Stephany's 'Shame (Instrumental Mix)' is a bubbly boogie delight.
Review: It would be fair to say that Charlie's "Spacer Woman" is one of the better-known Italo-disco anthems, which makes it all the more surprising that Dark Entries has chosen to reissue it. This is not a criticism, though; they've given Maurice Cavalieri and Giorgio Stefani's original the remaster treatment, and it sounds even more alien, exciting and oddball as it did back in 1983. The original vocal version - all woozy synths, throbbing arpeggios, wonky beats and typically eccentric vocals - is backed by the Instrumental version, which is the preferred mix of choice for many Italo DJs. If it's not in your collection already, it should be.
