Review: It's rare to see a debutant deep house producer really hit the spot, but that's exactly what Infected Soul - AKA Mpilwenhle Cele - has done here. Taking on the challenge of delivering the second volume of the African Calling series, he's laid down two immaculate deep house groovers that get just the right balance between tortured melancholy, hypnotic rhythms and subtle dancefloor chops. "Ritual Instinct" kicks things off with delicately programmed percussion, hypnotic chords and excellent, Ame-ish electronic builds. "Monday Rain", meanwhile, sounds like it's genuinely been touched with sadness - all heart-aching melodies, shuffling Afro-house percussion and thunderstorm sound FX.

Review: After a great year for Scottish producer Graeme Clark, and his cracking cover of the SOS Band's Just Be Good To Me, comes this new release on Japanese label Mule Musiq. The title track's a must have for any disco or Balearic heads out there, and comes with vocals courtesy of Paul Joseph. The flip side "Innaspace" is just as hot, and features some nice and funky Moog action. Definitely a good start to the year for The Revenge.
