Review: Ever since the Italian producer Rico Casazza left his homeland aged 19 in the search of musical vitality, he settled in London and has embodied and absorbed influences from a whole host of genres. He cut his teeth on the late 00s' burgeoning minimal scene, going on to release on labels such as Archipel, Slant Records and Release-Sustain. His new one comes courtesy of UK label Murge Recordings which is entitled "Transmutation" - a hard hitting yet emotional expression in dub techno loaded directly off the factory floor. It also receives two killer reworks: British techno veteran Kirk Degirogio (ART) delivers a bleep-driven sonar transmission which is totally epic, followed by another fellow legend in the from of the inimitable Aubrey - whose down and dirty version is as funky as you like it.
