Review: Hailing from Santa Domingo but now based in Greece, BNC - AKA Bruises 'N' Cuts, or sometimes The Disco Vampire - describes his sound as a fusion of "hip-hop, reggae, tropical, dancehall and electronica". He first released his 'Bodega Funk' album on his own My Boom Raise The Dead back in 2017, and now it returns in instrumental form. With BNC's laidback Snoop/Tupac-esque rap vocals removed the 10 tracks' innate Latin/tropical funk shines through more clearly, though there's still a scratchy hip-hop aesthetic to the production that means fans of Cold Busted and similar labels would be well advised to check for this one.
