Everybody loves a good jungle single. A good old rattling, battering jungle bit that slams and slams and slams, with those trademark pulsing basslines and the all of the relentless force that comes with them. Well, that's exactly what Nian Dub has given us with the A-side of this release, 'Signal Fire', a heavy punch of stuttering drums and shuddering lows. The flip, however, is crafty halftime and an interesting switch up that comes in the form of techish, pointed basslines and snapping percussion. This one is interesting at the very least, and top-notch at the best
Following their appearance on Tytanium Armor earlier this year, Manny trio Travesty let rip on local label Neo Babylon with two tightly coiled body slammers. "Activation" lives up to its name with ricochet glitches and a cool sense of unpredictable happy-slappiness. Meanwhile "Oblivion" takes a little more of a conventional route with its sharp steps and groaning, moaning bassline. Laced with energy and raw, unkempt edge, there's a cool air of danger running throughout. To miss out on this would indeed be a travesty...
