Review: Former Is It Balearic twosome Jaime Sagastibeltza and Borja Campion continue to impress with their occasional singles on Nein. On "Aberrated", the San Sebastian-based duo doff a cap to the greats of the mid-'80s EBM movement, wrapping Fairlight CMI style stabs, mutant vocal samples and mind-altering acid lines around a cowbell-heavy rhythm track. Connor and Mijo & Felipe Gordon take it in turns to transform the original version, with the latter's throbbing take - closer to early European, EBM-era takes on Chicago house than, say, Nitzer Ebb - delivering a particularly satisfying dancefloor workout. Connor takes the opposite approach, serving up a 111 BPM chugger rich in sweaty metallic percussion hits and fuzzy post-punk bass.
