Review: Defenders of the minimal techno sound long after trend-followers have moved on to pastures new, Easy Changes are back with another release on their own Nervmusic label, further extolling the virtues of lopsided grooves and stripped-down aesthetics in their freaky sound world. The title track gets caught in a nagging refrain that centres around a pint-sized synth note, while the percussion seems to shuffle off it into direct competition with the shards of sound design that cover around the mix. "Nordschleife", has similar traits but chooses to eke them out at a more measured pace perhaps truer to the minimal way of production. Baby Ford turns out a remix of "Ayrton Senna" that bolsters the fragmented nature of the original with a more fixed footing, treading still lightly but with a greater bass presence to satisfy the needs of a soundsystem.

The Story Untold (Ion Ludwig remix) - (8:02) 118 BPM Hot
Review: Having made a previous appearance on Nervmusic back in 2011, Russian producer Andrey Zots is back with another lesson in oddball minimal electronics. The title track is an obtuse affair that contorts sounds and samples into some unsettling, if highly developed sound design. "The Story Untold" meanwhile does manage to anchor itself to a beat, although there's still plenty of room for huffing and puffing textures just beneath the surface, while a lone horn trumps out an insistent note to give the track some grounding. Ion Ludwig brings his own stripped down styles to bear on "The Story Untold" with a lean and slow-moving cut for the most minimal of DJs to enjoy.

Let's Feed The Wolf (Petre Inspirescu remix) - (15:00) 126 BPM Hot
Envy - (9:21) 127 BPM
Review:  Easy Changes' minimally minded Nervmusic imprint takes its time with releasing music, and with good reason when the results are as captivating as on Hungarian Laurine Frost's latest effort. Fuelled by a plethora of field recordings and found sounds, Frost, crafts tricky grooves and haunting atmospheres in the classic minimal techno tradition, placing rhythmic intrigue above overt emotion and familiar tropes. "Let's Feed The Wolf" swings and lurches as a distended tuba of sorts groans intermittently, while "Far From Grace" throttles forwards against a tide of UFO pulses, driven by an impulsive array of drum hits from around the house. Given the surroundings, Petre Inspirescu makes for a wise choice in remixer, and the Romanian champ adds a more insistent, protracted groove to "Let's Feed The Wolf".
