Review: Rising jump-up wizard from Prague, Subsko's been laying down the law on labels such as Boujee Bass, Invicta Audio, Blazing Haze and many others. Now time for a level up as he drops his first album-sized project on us. Pure bassline pressure from the off, 'Business' cuts straight to the chase with big broadsword bass textures. This theme continues across the 15 track set as Subsko sweeps through the moods from trippy and creepy ('Technology') to all-out Halloween ('Shadowgem') But the most fitting salute of all is the finale cut of the album which lives up to its name with a zillion Belgian style lasers; 'Jump Up Till I Die'. Stack it up!
Review: Now this is a real powerhouse collection from the Next:Gen Audio crew, a truly gnarly collection as choppy drum bumps and lethal synth ideas are joined together by Junger across four tracks of pure fire. Firstly, 'Questions' leads the way as a truly gnarly title track, focussing on high intensity drum lines and a grizzly bassline to match, before Magenta joins the party on the constantly oscillating themes of 'Last Man Standing', another rave-ready weapon. From here, drum distortion and jump-up style synth work to the maximum as 'Big Boss' lands with major impact, before 'Train Wreck' closes us off with a seriously bouncy sense of bass action. A serious collection to say the least!
Review: Next:Gen Audio continue living up to their name with this stunning VA EP that's bursting with new generation talent. Magenta, HYDRO, Junger and 7Age have all showed serious skills in recent years and now they're here together on this beautiful summer-inspired session. Magenta shows off his soulful side with the piano-tickling 'Everything' while HYDRO gets on some sexy 23rd century RnB swag with 'Freaky'. Elsewhere Junger goes on a wonderful dreamy trip with 'Making Something' before 7Age flips the sweet switch on 'I Won't Run' with a powerful emotional finale. Sun's out, guns out!
Review: Next:Gen live up to their name once again with this blistering bundle from young Czech artist Junger. Flipping between jump-up and harder dancefloor elements, there's a rough and rude funk running throughout the collection. 'Structures' brings a gruff groove with some brilliant rattling snares, 'Individual Freedom' is a much more minimal session steeped in sci-fi prowess, 'Bipolar' brings a little breakbeat charm into the mix while 'First Hit' is all about the technoid and jump-up flavours. Imagine what Misanthrop and Macky Gee's love child would sound like and you're in the right arena.
Review: The Next Gen Audio team are definitely an imprint with a knack for sniffing out powerful new releases, which is exactly what they have found here with this spicy new selection from Amplify. Kicking off with 'Human', we can tell we are in for a high energy ride as sizzling synth pulses lead the way atop clean breaks, before 'Seduction' sends us a little more leftfield with some unusual bass processing that just seems to work. Next, Fanatics join the party for 'Carousel', a super gnarly exploration of high ended bass stabs and choppy drum manoeuvres before 'Got You', alongside Master Error gives us a classic jump up outro, again pushing some super colourful bass designs for forward for a hell of a splash.
