Review: It's been well established over the last couple of years that the Night Bass movement has rapidly risen into one of the most impressive imprints in global dance music, with 2021 being another very successful year. This 'Best Of 2021' compilation is therefore jam-packed with explosive bangers from the full range of their fabulous roster, with the likes of AC Slater, Chris Lorenzo, Taiki Nulight, Zero, NOISY, BIJOU, Elcamino and more all making heavyweight appearances. The best thing for us about the Night Bass catalogue is the way thet champion both established names and rapidly rising stars of the future, with MPH's 'Nova' being one of the project's highlights with it's glittering arrangement and excellent use of atmospherics, next to the more experimental rhythms and unorthodox melodic switches of 'Pop Your Hip' from Body Ocean. The whole project is a real homage to international dominance of Night Bass, with the future looking even brighter still.

Review: It has been one hell of a year for Hans Glader, the LA-based garage wizard whose sound continues to conquer global stages. He returns here to the legendary Night Bass imprint for a full four track display of his unique approach to 2-steppy flavours, kicking off with the luscious pad textures and distant saxophone lines of 'Culture'. From here the sumptuous vibes continue as the incredible soundscaping and general harmonic structures of 'Lumen' deliver a truly beautiful setting, followed by the more sub-heavy dips and weaves of 'Dimelo' alongside Night Bass founder: AC Slater. For us, this was already Hans Glader's strongest outing to date, but that's before 'Set You Free' elevates the whole project to an entirely new plateau with its sweeping string-like leads and groovy drum switches. Incredible work!

Review: What a legendary link up we find ourselves looking into here as the UK & US combine in infinite majesty. The legendary pioneering sounds of DJQ finally arrives for a full length drop on AC Slater's Night Bass imprint, showing us a different side to his character, away from his more typical niche inspired sound. We begin with 'Zip Zap', a bubbling techy roller, driven by well rounded drum designs and a perfectly placed vocal line from Robbie Rue, before 'Concentration' gives us a more raucous approach, allowing lethal synthesizer lines to take the lead. Finally we get to take in an interesting creation, showcasing Q's garage roots as 'Show Me Love' unleashes a chord driven arrangement, giving us a soothing throwback to close out the EP.

Review: As far as international bass imprints go, it's safe to say that Night Bass are one of the teams really leading the way in 4x4 music, with this latest drop from Lowdown being yet another fantastic example of their consistency and cunning. We begin by taking in the shuffling drum punches and industrial bass drones of 'Eastside' which set us off in style with an overall haunted vibe. Next, SLATIN gets involved as he joins forces for the high energy house-like drum designs of 'Pro Wrestler'. Next, the title track 'Ghetto Poetry' delivers another sizzling piece of bass-heavy succulence, before 'Go' welcomes both Qlank & JC Stormz inside for an unpredictable, percussion-lead stonker, perfect for festival season whenever that may next be!

Review: Despite the varying states of difficulty the world seems to find itself in, the growth of bass music across the globe doesn't seem to have slowed down in any way, with Night Bass remaining one of the most talked about imprints in the game. This latest helping from Kendoll is a perfect example of how to stay ahead of the curve, kicking off with 'Fall Back' alongside the legendary AC Slater and rapidly rising Sophiegrophy. This one sets the tone perfectly with it's kuduro-sounding percussive syncopations and catchy vocal inputs, before the unpredictable soundscapes and quirky melodic influxes of 'Wasted Again' takes the EP somewhere completely different. Finally, the ever-ready Dread MC joins the party for some rave-ready vocal additions on the big room stomper named 'Never Sleep', which comes to us dripping in acidic expression and original texture.

Review: These sure are unusual times around the world, but one thing we have gained from this state of worldwide lockdown is a flurry of top quality electronic music releases, with this latest drop Night Bass being a perfect example. They welcome back the crispy sounds of MNNR for three tracks of pure fire, kicking off with the super punchy drum slaps and shuffling rhythmic expressions of the title track 'The Party'. Review: Releasing music from the likes of Sinden, AC Slater, Jack Beats and Herve over the years, the Night Bass label out of the UK have worked with a who's-who of club music specialists. Both Blossom and Shdws have delivered on their own individual releases for Night Bass in the past with the label choosing a three-track collaborative split release as their return. Shdws' solo effort sees darker tones of 80s synthwave and vocals meet with warbling metallic bass lines, tech house drums and skipping rhythms. Teamed up with Blossom, the pair trip through a circus of synths, trippy vocals and out of shape rave to straight up dub and two step. Mind Games gonna make you trip.

Review: The Nightbass rampage continues to roam into new territory here as they get busy with a super experimental collaboration. Primarily known for his catchy 140 grime flows, Capo Lee joins the party with a potent vocal appearance alongside messers Sinden and Lo'99 on 'Natural High'. The title track 'Super Phat' is a heavyweight collaboration with Ushi Qute, working her impactful vocals into a high pressure build up, landing on a synth driven madness of a breakdown. Review: Here we see two bass heavy super powers combine as the immovable force of Night Bass team up with bass queen Flava D for a very highly anticipated project by the name of 'Spicy Noodles'. The title track kicks off with some serious flare as winding catchy synth melodies roam freely above chunky drum designs and lethal subwork to match. Next up, the more minimalized arrangement of 'Acting Skank', a techy roller dressed with expertly utilized vocal slices and electronic bass leads. Finally we finish up the project with 'Pickpocket', another minimal skanker, this time driven by the percussive clicks and subtle synth work, along with a top draw guest vocal from Brighton's PVC. Excellent stuff.

Being one of the most popular bass labels in the UK, the standard is set very high and everyone steps up to the mark, kicking off with Blossom's vibrant 4x4 belter 'Go'. We then move into Nukid's highly experimental electro balad in 'Front2Back' before landing on the techy bass rolls of 'The Burbs' from Jordan Burns. Review: The rampage of the Night Bass crew continues as they bring together this incredibly vibrant breaks infused EP from Tombz. We begin with the softened introductory atmospherics on 'Deep In The Night', before descending into expertly crafted 4x4 rhythms and growling reesey leads. Up next, 'Sweat', featuring some intense vocal work from 'Jimmy Wit An H'. This one is a fidgety throwback, focusing on bouncy synthesis and rolling drumwork, inciting tribal grooves. We round the EP off with the deeper house inspired arrangement of the title track 'Sick', which focuses on moody leads and stuttered drum selections. This is another great product from the Night Bass collective, who again appear unable to put a foot wrong!

Review: Long term Night Bass flag flyer Taiki Nulight returns to the ever-impressive imprint with his long awaited Broken Ribs' EP, which is stuffed to the brim with bass heavy goodies. We begin with the title track which is a dancefloor weapon, from the high intensity build ups of the intro to the incredibly unique synth design of the breakdown. Next we move into the more stripped back 4/4 arrangements of 'U Know' before landing on the highly anticipated sub heavy collaboration with Inkline entitled 'Cynic'. Finally the EP rounds up with it's second collaboration, this time with Stranger, as the pair pull together a selection of weird and wonderful synth sounds and skippy drum patterns resulting in a high energy banger.

Review: LA based imprint: Night Bass have been one of the most impressive labels within dance music over the last couple of years, and that trend continues with their latest EP project alongside Petey Clicks. This four-track project kicks off with the title track 'Club Heads', which is a ball of super electronic sounding synth instrumentation with sharp 4x4 drums below. Next up we have the super experimental distortion of 'Paid' along with the unpredictable synth melodies and explosive percussive design of 'Parrin'. Finally we finish up with fidget-inspired crunchy bass instruments of 'Bass & Tweeters' which ties the EP up with a real spark.

Review: Aaron Clevenger aka AC Slater returns to Californian low-end specialists Night Bass, with a brand new three track EP ahead of his performance at the legendary Coachella festival in the Colorado Valley in April. This also follows up his debut album Outsiders for the label last year. "I Wanna Show You" sees the Party Like Us boss push his bass driven tech-sound sound forward. On "Amen Tribe" and "Can't Come Down" (featuring YoungLyxx) we see the Los Angeles native thrown down yet more sleazy deep tech bounce that's sure to cause some heat on the dancefloor.

Review: Bass music heavyweights Night Bass make another fantastic addition to this years release listings with a heated three tracker from San Francisco's own 219 Boys. The title track for this EP is an animated bass adventure, full of swerving bass synths and intricate rhythmic ideas. Following his we have "Back Down" which takes a more techy approach, focussing on low end moogy oscillations and a stream of choppy vocal samples. Finally we move into the jukey drums and fidgety synths movement of 'Strizzy'. This one is a certified roller and a great way to round up a quality EP.

Review: AC Slater's Night Bass imprint has everybody waiting on the next announcement at the moment, and with such an impressive run of releases, who can blame anybody? The latest in this long line of highly anticipated projects comes from Moscow's own Volak. This two tracker is full of power and production precision. The title track is awesome, flitting between slightly bitcrushed synth leads and well rounded drum arrangements. On the B-side, Faith In You is a solid accompaniment which features fantastic string sampling and additional production credits from Tony B.

Review: As 2017 has progressed, AC Slater's own Night Bass imprint have solidified themselves as a leading force in the world of underground bass music. This time around they call upon the services of Sydney's own 'Wax Motif' for a fantastic 2 tracker. The title track and A Side is a dancefloor driven monster, with electrifying bass synths and punchy drums cascading across the mix perfectly. The B Side 'Mental' which comes in collaboration with RICCI is more of a techy roller, focussing on catchy percussive rhythms and subtle sub patterns. This is a great way to round off the year for the LA based label who have consistently moved up from strength to strength throughout the year.
