Review: Wow, what a run it has been for the Night Bass team who hear touch down with their one hundredth official release, celebrating one of the most exceptional catalogues within the entire bass music spectrum. They have pulled together an exquisite line up for this one, featuring a tonne of high end names, including founder AC Slater alongside Chris Lorenzo, Flava D, Shift K3y, Jack Beats and more. For us there are a couple of clear stand outs on this one, the first of which has to be the long awaited release of Taiki Nulight and Dread Mc's bassy roller: 'Kush'. We also love the smooth subby bops of Sinden's 'Work That', along with the incredibly unique drum work of 'Ugly' from Petey Clicks.

Review: The run that the legendary Night Bass imprint has been on over the past 18 months is slightly frightening, with a relentlessness to deliver incredible bass music every single time. This latest project sees them bring in the hard hitting 4x4 structures of Nostalgix, a producer whose sound is instantly recognizable, due to her super sharp drum work. We hear this from the jump as the rolling kick thumps and bubbling sub pressures of 'Heist' kick us off, followed by the weird, warping synthesizer patterns and hypnotic sub drones of 'Bad For Me' arrive on the scene. We round up in style, as the super creative, alarm-like synth leads of the title track 'OG Sins' smashes this one over the line!

Review: It's been a long time coming, but after a long run of exciting single drop, Night Bass founder and all around dance music legend: AC Slater lands on his home imprint for a brand new album project. The project features the previously released single 'Final Fantasy' but as a club mix alongside a bag of incredible collaborative additions, including Dread MC, Jay Robinson, Chris Lorenzo, Murkage Dave, Taiki Nulight and more. With twelve tracks of the highest quality, AC has really set the bar super high, with particular highlights including the high energy collaboration with Jack Beats, Sinden and Flowdan entitled 'Boss Like That', along with the tasty house tones of 'Feeling Awake'.

Review: It's quite difficult in today's bass scene to see Bassboy's name and not get excited, whether it be for one of his super entertaining Instagram track builds or a new EP such as this. He teams up with the legendary Night Bass imprint for a sizzling four track selection, kicking off with the gritty LFO rolls of the title track 'Hollywood', which is chased up the super colourful UKG struts of 'So Good'. Following this, 'Sweet 'n' Sour' switches the EP back onto a more gritty pass with his hardened bass synths running riot, before the moogy plucks of 'Vibesy' finish everything up with a serious dash of spice.

Review: What a journey the last year has been for Bushbaby, whilst undergoing a serious evolution in his sound, he has landed some of the biggest releases in UK dance music this year. He now touches down on the almighty Night Bass for his latest conquest, that being his extremely tech heavy 'Naughty Pleasure' EP. The title track itself is a super smooth 4x4 roller, driven by tight electronic bass tones and minimalist drum grooves, followed by a crunchy, metallic collaboration with the ever ready Inkline entitled 'Walk Away'. Finally, we finish up with our favourite of the bunch in 'Secret', a nostalgic twist up, livened up by its use of classic organ chords and a smooth final touch.

Review: For Brighton producer Taiki Nulight, he couldn't be more excited to release on Los Angeles-based Night Bass. This is a culmination of years of DJing and collaborating. His last LP Murky Manor was the soundscape of his life to date, claiming it was so important for him as an artist to do a full album - one that showcased the full depth and breadth of his sound. The themes continue on the Soundwave EP. The moody bounce of the title track and its druggy vocals, the intoxicating late night shuffle of "Lil Mama" and crossing over into minimal tech house on the tunneling "Turn It Up" - this one is fierce!

We see six originals make the tracklisting for this one, with artists such as SQWAD, Qlank, SODF and Double Agent all providing us with absolute heaters. Review: The Night Bass party continues to rock out here as we introduce their latest project, seeing Hotfire drive himself into the limelight across four techy bass bangers. The title track 'Do Or Die' is a bouncy, 808 driven crunch, with vocal slices providing quirky rhythmic movement throughout. Following this, the darkened sub tones and shimmering drum work of 'Dangerous' step into the field, with the minimal jackin' production themes of 'Criminal' not far behind. The finishing move comes via 'Relax', a smooth, moody roller, brought to life by its bright drum movement and vocal inputs.

This release showcases such a fantastic array of styles, from the crunchy drum switches of 'French Prince' from Movenchy, the rolling percussive stutters of 'Killers' from NuKid and Jordan Burns to Gerry Gonza's deeper 'Make My Eyes Roll Back' alongside Bekah. The first of these takes the title track role and goes by the name of 'Scared To Death', which brings together shuffling, sharpened bass creations and catchy vocal slices, topped with bubbling drum structures to add that dash of sauce. On the flip we are treated to another heater in 'Lazers', which, unironically uses lazer-like siren tones to form an alarming bass lead. Perfect for the ravers!

This EP see's him return to his tip top best as 'To The Floor' shuffles into play with it's unique, crunchy synthesized leads and bubbling 4x4 rhythms bringing a serious dose of dancefloor energy. We begin our delving into this one with a trip through the title track 'Deadly Weapon', which is a nuclear strike of an original, packing a punch between it's hard hitting synth designs and sharp brass melodies. Next, the crunchy drum work of 'Trap Bitch' whirls into play, which takes a more subtle approach, focusing on large scale sub bass and vocal slices. Finally, we finish up with the shuffling synthesizer rolls of 'Slug 45', rounding up a very impressive body of work.

For the title track 'Free Your Soul', we hear AC join forces with Young Lyxx for a vibrant 4x4 stomper, encapsulating the exact sound Night Bass represents. It all gets a bit more techy next as we are introducing to the jittery lead synthesis alongside the gloopy LFOs and sharp drum designs of 'IFU'. The EP blasts off with the title track, featuring high energy vocals from TT The Artist. "DYTAM" keeps the vibe rolling along with a darker U.K. funky/bassline vibe, then leading into "Anime" 'a fidgety bass banger' with a grimy low end and featuring guest bars by Outlaw.

This latest project sees them compile the second edition of 'Night Bass Remixed', featuring some heavyweight recreations from the likes of APEXAPE, 219 Boys, Proxy and a bag more high profile names. For us, the immediate stand outs on this one have to come from Codes & Stranger who rework the magnificent 'Big Riddim' featuring Jamakabi, along with Taiki Nulight's powerful overhaul of the classic 'Keepmastik' from Phlegmatic Dogs.

Review: As we kick start what is set to be an absolutely phenomenal year for bass music, we get stuck into the first offering of 2019 from Night Bass, who were without a doubt one of the stand out outfits within the music community last year. They bring forward Corrupt for four tracks of pure bass wizardry, with the title track 'It's Not Ok' being a sweeping swampy scorcher, followed by the the more electronic pressures of 'Keep It Coming'. Next up we dive head first into the angry synthesis and drum crunches of 'All The Massive', before rounding off with a punch in the circular bass tones of 'The Loot'. If this is how they are starting the year, it's set to be a very exciting 2019 for the Night Bass team.

As a label, AC Slater's outfit has developed into one of the most forward thinking projects currently rolling out across the bass music expanse and this compilation showcases just how far they have moved forward. The tracklisting contains a monstrous host, featuring the likes of Flava D, Shift K3y, Jack Beats, Cause & Affect and many more heavy hitters. Primarily known for his catchy 140 grime flows, Capo Lee joins the party with a potent vocal appearance alongside messers Sinden and Lo'99 on 'Natural High'. This one is set to cause major damage in the dances as Capo's smooth vocal presence sits perfectly atop stripped back drum designs and potent sub pressure. This one comes complete with two remixes, with Proxy sending the original to the distortion choppin block and Bijou reworking the track into a super techy roller. Great stuff again from the Nightbass camp.

This album showcases everything that the man is about, from the UKG inspired flavours of the title track 'Murky Manor', to the more futuristic and experimental stylings of 'Iconic', alongside Dread MC. This project is made up on 9 original records, including top draw creations from the likes of AC Slater, Bijou, Cause & Affect, Taiki Nulight, Bassboy and more, making up a spectacular line up to say the least. For us the instant highlights on this one have to include 'The Freq' from 219 Boys and 'Church (feat Dances with White Girls)' from Sinden & Petey Clicks, both of which encapsulate the darkened futuristic bass stylings of Night Bass perfectly!

Review: The rampage of the Night Bass collective shows no sign of slowing any time soon as they roll out another top draw compilation, this one consisting of six heaters under the name of 'Summer Phrases 2018'. Taiki Nulight and Hadean kick off proceedings with their tearout roller in 'No Attention', with 219 Boys following up on some sublow flavours in 'Hooked Up'. Codes then provides some techy tastings on 'Brand New Drop' before Bijou teams up with Davonyea Marcel for the experimental stylings of 'On Read'. Sinden & Dillon Nathaniel finish up the EP in style with their explosive outings on 'Swervin In A Lex' and 'Can't See Me'. Another top draw outing for the Night Bass camp.

BIJOU & ATLAST - "Better Than That" - (3:23) 126 BPM
Review: The Night Bass rampage continues to rage as they bring in Bijou for this exciting four track selection, packing a serious punch. The title track 'Super Phat' is a heavyweight collaboration with Ushi Qute, working her impactful vocals into a high pressure build up, landing on a synth driven madness of a breakdown. To follow we have the super punchy drum work of 'Do Not Disturb' alongside the distorted devisings of 'Expert'. The EP is rounded off with some major flare as the shuffling synths and hard hitting drum designs of 'Better Than That' run riot.

Acting Stank - (4:41) 127 BPM
Review: Here we see two bass heavy super powers combine as the immovable force of Night Bass team up with bass queen Flava D for a very highly anticipated project by the name of 'Spicy Noodles'. The title track kicks off with some serious flare as winding catchy synth melodies roam freely above chunky drum designs and lethal subwork to match. Next up, the more minimalized arrangement of 'Acting Skank', a techy roller dressed with expertly utilized vocal slices and electronic bass leads. Finally we finish up the project with 'Pickpocket', another minimal skanker, this time driven by the percussive clicks and subtle synth work, along with a top draw guest vocal from Brighton's PVC. Excellent stuff.

Review: The Night Bass train continues to roll out furiously as they employ the services of five brand new faces across their brand new compilation 'Night Bass Freshmen'. Being one of the most popular bass labels in the UK, the standard is set very high and everyone steps up to the mark, kicking off with Blossom's vibrant 4x4 belter 'Go'. We then move into Nukid's highly experimental electro balad in 'Front2Back' before landing on the techy bass rolls of 'The Burbs' from Jordan Burns. Next up, Kendoll with his slightly acidic stomper in 'Stop Calling Me' before we round of the EP with some minimalist UK Bass from the rapidly rising duo of Nubass & Deppz.

Sick - (5:37) 126 BPM
Review: The rampage of the Night Bass crew continues as they bring together this incredibly vibrant breaks infused EP from Tombz. We begin with the softened introductory atmospherics on 'Deep In The Night', before descending into expertly crafted 4x4 rhythms and growling reesey leads. Up next, 'Sweat', featuring some intense vocal work from 'Jimmy Wit An H'. This one is a fidgety throwback, focusing on bouncy synthesis and rolling drumwork, inciting tribal grooves. We round the EP off with the deeper house inspired arrangement of the title track 'Sick', which focuses on moody leads and stuttered drum selections. This is another great product from the Night Bass collective, who again appear unable to put a foot wrong!

Review: Long term Night Bass flag flyer Taiki Nulight returns to the ever-impressive imprint with his long awaited Broken Ribs' EP, which is stuffed to the brim with bass heavy goodies. We begin with the title track which is a dancefloor weapon, from the high intensity build ups of the intro to the incredibly unique synth design of the breakdown. Next we move into the more stripped back 4/4 arrangements of 'U Know' before landing on the highly anticipated sub heavy collaboration with Inkline entitled 'Cynic'. Finally the EP rounds up with it's second collaboration, this time with Stranger, as the pair pull together a selection of weird and wonderful synth sounds and skippy drum patterns resulting in a high energy banger.

Review: LA based imprint: Night Bass have been one of the most impressive labels within dance music over the last couple of years, and that trend continues with their latest EP project alongside Petey Clicks. This four-track project kicks off with the title track 'Club Heads', which is a ball of super electronic sounding synth instrumentation with sharp 4x4 drums below. Next up we have the super experimental distortion of 'Paid' along with the unpredictable synth melodies and explosive percussive design of 'Parrin'. Finally we finish up with fidget-inspired crunchy bass instruments of 'Bass & Tweeters' which ties the EP up with a real spark.

Review: Since smashing his way into the centre of bass music in the UK, Shift K3y is yet to disappoint with a single release. His latest project sees him join forces with the goliath Night Bass imprint for three absolute stormers. We begin with the tear out tones of the title track 'Bite', before jumping into the more samba inspired funky rhythms of 'Cowbell'. We then round of with 'Don't Look Back', a sharp piece of certified dancefloor danger.

Review: The first edition of AC Slater's 'Outsiders Remixed' release was met with a fantastic response from fans and DJ's across the globe. We were super excited therefore to see the second edition hit the shelves in such quick pursuit. This time we see Phlegmatic Dogs get their teeth stuck into 'Jaws' for a punchy rework, Kastle pull together a futuristic garage recreation of 'Come Back' and JackBeats step up for a fidgety overhaul of 'Another You'. The EP is then rounded off in style with Taiki Nulight's gritty 4x4 redesign of 'All About Paper'. Night Bass have done it yet again it seems!

Review: Aaron Clevenger aka AC Slater returns to Californian low-end specialists Night Bass, with a brand new three track EP ahead of his performance at the legendary Coachella festival in the Colorado Valley in April. This also follows up his debut album Outsiders for the label last year. "I Wanna Show You" sees the Party Like Us boss push his bass driven tech-sound sound forward. On "Amen Tribe" and "Can't Come Down" (featuring YoungLyxx) we see the Los Angeles native thrown down yet more sleazy deep tech bounce that's sure to cause some heat on the dancefloor.

Review: LA based label Night Bass have for a long time now been pushing the boundaries of electronic dance music through exciting sound design and style. Their latest release, courtesy of Proxy, sees the boundaries of rhythm pushed out further than ever before with a vibesy two tracker. First of all we hear the sounds of "Stupid" which is a reesey roller coupled with heavily syncopated clicky synth leads. The shuffled theme continues on "Serious" which has a more stripped back, sub-heavy arrangement.

Dealer (feat Tchami - Petey Clicks remix) - (5:32) 128 BPM
Review: It's safe to say that AC Slater has become one of the most influential names in worldwide bass music, both as a producer and as the driving force behind the infamous 'Night Bass' imprint. He makes his return to the homeworld with this brand new four tracker entitled 'Outsiders Remixed Pt 1', where we see the Night Bass collective rework classic tracks from AC's 'Outsiders' album.
To start off Sinden gets to work with a vibrant fidgety refurbishment of 'Misfit', originally featuring PVC and Herve. Next up Jay Robinson gets to work shuffling up 'Taking Off' and Riddim Commision gets busy with Jamakabi's intense vocal performance on 'Big Riddim'. Finally we are treated to Petey Clicks putting together his emotive recreation of 'Dealer' featuring credits from Tchami and Rome Fortune.

Review: Bass music heavyweights Night Bass make another fantastic addition to this years release listings with a heated three tracker from San Francisco's own 219 Boys. The title track for this EP is an animated bass adventure, full of swerving bass synths and intricate rhythmic ideas. Following his we have "Back Down" which takes a more techy approach, focussing on low end moogy oscillations and a stream of choppy vocal samples. Finally we move into the jukey drums and fidgety synths movement of 'Strizzy'. This one is a certified roller and a great way to round up a quality EP.

Review: AC Slater's Night Bass imprint has everybody waiting on the next announcement at the moment, and with such an impressive run of releases, who can blame anybody? The latest in this long line of highly anticipated projects comes from Moscow's own Volak. This two tracker is full of power and production precision. The title track is awesome, flitting between slightly bitcrushed synth leads and well rounded drum arrangements. On the B-side, Faith In You is a solid accompaniment which features fantastic string sampling and additional production credits from Tony B.

Forsaken - (4:16) 128 BPM Biggest-selling track on this release
Review: As 2017 has progressed, AC Slater's own Night Bass imprint have solidified themselves as a leading force in the world of underground bass music. This time around they call upon the services of Sydney's own 'Wax Motif' for a fantastic 2 tracker. The title track and A Side is a dancefloor driven monster, with electrifying bass synths and punchy drums cascading across the mix perfectly. The B Side 'Mental' which comes in collaboration with RICCI is more of a techy roller, focussing on catchy percussive rhythms and subtle sub patterns. This is a great way to round off the year for the LA based label who have consistently moved up from strength to strength throughout the year.

Right Back - (5:24) 127 BPM Biggest-selling track on this release
Review: One of the most prolific and consistent basssmiths in the house/tech/broken beat axis, Robinson continues to raise the profile with four more mischief-making collaborations; Pelikann joins in for a little Python rattling on the twisted bass throw-down "Gettuh", NIQW and Ami Carmine collide with Jay for a little dirty soul shaking on "Right Back" while GAWP is onside for the a sweet strutting house groove that's tickled with a riff that's reminiscent of mid 2000s Get Physical material. Finally we have the epic stripped back jacker "Oblivious" with Vanilla Ace that drops into an immense hood-heaving mid-section and cowbell popping groove. Jay: 1 / World: 0 It's a knockout.
