Review: Having already gained interest from some compilation appearances, the Unmade EP is actually the first release proper from this San Francisco outfit. Night Bass have to really trust an artist to put out their records and thankfully 219 Boys don't let them down. There are three spacey and imaginative takes on bass music here, starting with the cheeky Les Grossman-sampling melodic house opener "FYOF". Next is "Unmake" which is a slinky slice of sauntering tech-funk, before "Risk" drives things harder bringing some heavy underground vibes into the mix.
Review: What a crazy trip it's been for AC Slater. Having bubbled away in all kinds of genres from hardcore to electro in the 2000s, having set up Night Bass just two years ago, he's created a distinctive and hugely successful sound that's so distinctive it's often described as the Night Bass sound. With his debut album Outsiders he galvanises and develops the sound even more as he ranges from the classic bass burping UK influenced jackers we know and love him for ("Ring The Alarm", All About The Paper", "Dope Slinger") to a much more soulful, sensual palette and flexes his deeper side ("Take Off", "Come Back") With splashes of UK garage ("Another You") and total alien grit ("Jaws"), this is the Night Bass bossman really digging into his own sound, his own crew and his movement.
Review: The Night Bass rampage marches forward again as founder and front runner of the American bass scene: AC Slater touches down across three tracks of fire. For the title track 'Free Your Soul', we hear AC join forces with Young Lyxx for a vibrant 4x4 stomper, encapsulating the exact sound Night Bass represents. It all gets a bit more techy next as we are introducing to the jittery lead synthesis alongside the gloopy LFOs and sharp drum designs of 'IFU'. Review: Aaron Clevenger aka AC Slater returns to Californian low-end specialists Night Bass, with a brand new three track EP ahead of his performance at the legendary Coachella festival in the Colorado Valley in April. This also follows up his debut album Outsiders for the label last year. "I Wanna Show You" sees the Party Like Us boss push his bass driven tech-sound sound forward. On "Amen Tribe" and "Can't Come Down" (featuring YoungLyxx) we see the Los Angeles native thrown down yet more sleazy deep tech bounce that's sure to cause some heat on the dancefloor.
Review: The first edition of AC Slater's 'Outsiders Remixed' release was met with a fantastic response from fans and DJ's across the globe. We were super excited therefore to see the second edition hit the shelves in such quick pursuit. This time we see Phlegmatic Dogs get their teeth stuck into 'Jaws' for a punchy rework, Kastle pull together a futuristic garage recreation of 'Come Back' and JackBeats step up for a fidgety overhaul of 'Another You'. The EP is then rounded off in style with Taiki Nulight's gritty 4x4 redesign of 'All About Paper'. Night Bass have done it yet again it seems!
Review: Next up, the Night Bass reign continues to pour, dispersing wavy music left right and centre as the founder himself returns home for a fantastic new garage single by the name of 'Final Fantasy'. This one is an instant hit, as Kaleena Zanders gets busy with some incredibly catchy vocal lines over some smooth, silky 4x4 flavours from AC Slater, making for the perfect combo. This single also comes complete with a bag of fantastic remixes, with Jay Robinson turning the original into a bouncy party piece, Steady Rock providing some nostalgic house flavours and Turno bringing forward a wicked drums interpretation, packed with catchy synth leads and lively rhythms!
Review: Flinging double negatives like a clown hurls custard pies, AC Slater builds on Night Bass's generous debut release with his second full-fat EP of the year. With a sound and attitude that's been cemented into the bass scene psyche for a decade, you know what to expect from him: BS-free floor-fire with added humour... And that's exactly what we get. "The Chirp" is a Dirtybird-level jacker, "Skywalker OG" taps deeper into the classic house roots with an air of late 90s Van Helden, "Waterverb" flips the trap bird before dropping into some seriously silky 4/4 wobble while "Not No Love Song" vibes with classic rave synths and a speed garage style drop that's not, not, amazing.
Review: ooohhh - the calculating Night Bass imprint returns to some quick fire action thanks to this naughty VA comp - and the results are as impressive as they are, well, booty-shaking. There's a whole line of stars in the making here, with peeps like AC Slater, Phlegmatic Dogs and Petey Clicks all offering their various new strains of high-grade bass mutations. In fact, much like the label's wider catalogue, these future-minded bangers are a mixed race fo sorts; from speedy garage to teched-out house and dubstep, there's something in here for all lovers of the UK ting. Review: In the 90s AC Slater was the totally ripped jock in Saved By the Bell, but now however, it's the name of an LA bass maniac. Arriving on his own mighty Night Bass Label, My Peoples is a two track EP that continues to bring the sub-heavy heat to the USA. The title track is a storming 4 x 4 thumper with hip-hop samples and a stop-start dynamic that'll stop you resting on your laurels. Next up "Psycho" is a throwback to the deep and jazzy garage/house of the 90s - imagine vintage Van Helden with a firecracker in his tracksuit!
Review: American bass music is always produced big and tough. Hailing from LA, AC Slater's Night Bass label excels at this particular breed of shizzle. Here Slater shares a release with Taiki Nulight who presents "Super Doopah Legend" - a sizzling anthem with ascending/descending bass riffs, comedy vocal samples, build-ups and a general ghetto bounce. Slater himself also provides "Head Knockin", a strong 4 x 4 vehicle, featuring weird low squelches and dubbed-out lasers. Another quality joint from Night Bass then.
Review: It's quite difficult in today's bass scene to see Bassboy's name and not get excited, whether it be for one of his super entertaining Instagram track builds or a new EP such as this. He teams up with the legendary Night Bass imprint for a sizzling four track selection, kicking off with the gritty LFO rolls of the title track 'Hollywood', which is chased up the super colourful UKG struts of 'So Good'. Following this, 'Sweet 'n' Sour' switches the EP back onto a more gritty pass with his hardened bass synths running riot, before the moogy plucks of 'Vibesy' finish everything up with a serious dash of spice.
Review: Phoenix-based DJ Blossom has been performing at the Night Bass Arizona shows for years, so A.C. Slater & Co. are beyond excited to introduce her first release on the Los Angeles-based label. The EP blasts off with the title track, featuring high energy vocals from TT The Artist. "DYTAM" keeps the vibe rolling along with a darker U.K. funky/bassline vibe, then leading into "Anime" 'a fidgety bass banger' with a grimy low end and featuring guest bars by Outlaw.
Review: The Night Bass train continues to roll out furiously as they employ the services of five brand new faces across their brand new compilation 'Night Bass Freshmen'. Being one of the most popular bass labels in the UK, the standard is set very high and everyone steps up to the mark, kicking off with Blossom's vibrant 4x4 belter 'Go'. We then move into Nukid's highly experimental electro balad in 'Front2Back' before landing on the techy bass rolls of 'The Burbs' from Jordan Burns. Next up, Kendoll with his slightly acidic stomper in 'Stop Calling Me' before we round of the EP with some minimalist UK Bass from the rapidly rising duo of Nubass & Deppz.
Review: According to his bio, Bot is of the future. Half man, half-machine; fully Italian. Fair enough: bring it on, we say! Formerly one half of Crookers and now stepping out on his own, bass renegade Andrea Fratangelo is now based in Los Angeles (by way of London) and delivers us the Balut EP, a collaboration with Tony Quattro. First track "Balut" is a bleepy and stripped, swing fuelled house jam for eager, early evening dancefloors. Fans of Will Clarke or the Dirtybird sound will definitely dig this. "Guess Who" features a massive white noise build up and referee whistles before the massive bass induced drop, on this tough late night house excursion for freaks.
Review: What a journey the last year has been for Bushbaby, whilst undergoing a serious evolution in his sound, he has landed some of the biggest releases in UK dance music this year. He now touches down on the almighty Night Bass for his latest conquest, that being his extremely tech heavy 'Naughty Pleasure' EP. The title track itself is a super smooth 4x4 roller, driven by tight electronic bass tones and minimalist drum grooves, followed by a crunchy, metallic collaboration with the ever ready Inkline entitled 'Walk Away'. Finally, we finish up with our favourite of the bunch in 'Secret', a nostalgic twist up, livened up by its use of classic organ chords and a smooth final touch.
Review: No messing around on this one: the man-machine Lorenzo lays down a severe groove and gives it the grave name it deserves. Spiked-out, siren-loaded and prone to switching, "Foot & Mouth" is the type of gully tune we all need as we come down from a hot, sticky summer. "Nightmares" follows suit with a similarly detuned feel to the bassline, all paranoid, weirded out and non-standard... The main strength that's got Chris to his premiership position in the first place.
Review: As we kick start what is set to be an absolutely phenomenal year for bass music, we get stuck into the first offering of 2019 from Night Bass, who were without a doubt one of the stand out outfits within the music community last year. They bring forward Corrupt for four tracks of pure bass wizardry, with the title track 'It's Not Ok' being a sweeping swampy scorcher, followed by the the more electronic pressures of 'Keep It Coming'. Next up we dive head first into the angry synthesis and drum crunches of 'All The Massive', before rounding off with a punch in the circular bass tones of 'The Loot'. If this is how they are starting the year, it's set to be a very exciting 2019 for the Night Bass team.
Review: Following on from a wicked feature on the last Night Bass four track compilation, we here see the full return of Corrupt, who joins the team with three very vibrant originals. We kick off with the smooth, piercing sub maneuvers and sharp drum designs of the title track 'Real Mob' before 'They Can't Do It' hurtles into view, featuring some wicked additional work from 'Natz'. Finally, we take a peek at the VIP mix of 'Shook', a track which is packed with some seriously electrifying energy, driven by its lethal synthesizer runs and punchy drum production. Review: The prolific producer, Destructo, however hasn't released a solo effort in nearly a year. Now he's back in the game hooking up with Night Bass label mate Wax Motif and MC Vanilla Ace for their 'heavy g-house anthem', "Beatdown". The tune is lean and mean electro-house jam with a menacing bounce and a hint of wobbly nastiness in its infectious bottom end. Label captain AC Slater also steps up to deliver a more searing bassline remix. No dancefloor gets out alive with this one.
Review: Here we see two bass heavy super powers combine as the immovable force of Night Bass team up with bass queen Flava D for a very highly anticipated project by the name of 'Spicy Noodles'. The title track kicks off with some serious flare as winding catchy synth melodies roam freely above chunky drum designs and lethal subwork to match. Next up, the more minimalized arrangement of 'Acting Skank', a techy roller dressed with expertly utilized vocal slices and electronic bass leads. Finally we finish up the project with 'Pickpocket', another minimal skanker, this time driven by the percussive clicks and subtle synth work, along with a top draw guest vocal from Brighton's PVC. Excellent stuff.
Review: Those who dismiss out of hand the stateside rise of EDM are missing out. For every Guetta or Harris, there's a producer discovering, and making, proper dance music too. Californian duo Hotfire (Eric Yandall and Sascha Nowlin) are a perfect example, making cool UK style bass music whilst hailing from San Diego. "Tough Break" is bouncy, bleepy mechanical funk at its finest, "The Fuegs" is fusion of a clever raw, arpeggiated electro and deep percussive house, whilst "Modish" wraps things up with some skippy, if subdued, garage beats and laser rhythms.
Review: The Night Bass party continues to rock out here as we introduce their latest project, seeing Hotfire drive himself into the limelight across four techy bass bangers. The title track 'Do Or Die' is a bouncy, 808 driven crunch, with vocal slices providing quirky rhythmic movement throughout. Following this, the darkened sub tones and shimmering drum work of 'Dangerous' step into the field, with the minimal jackin' production themes of 'Criminal' not far behind. The finishing move comes via 'Relax', a smooth, moody roller, brought to life by its bright drum movement and vocal inputs.
Review: Californian duo Kairos (aka Eric Yandall and Sascha Nowlin) are literally smokin' right now with their unique take on bass music burning up dancefloors left, right and centre. Following on from fellow American producer Petey Clicks, they too release an EP on the ever-savvy Night Bass. "Hotfire" features four tracks that draw on a wide range of influences, including UK garage and wobble on "I Need You", party breaks on "Pivotal" and even good old fidget house on "Yesterday".
Review: London's Jack Beats (aka Niall Dailly & Ben Geffin), are, if not quite wise old elders of the bassline scene, then certainly one of the genre's more established acts. Here they are back with a two pronged attack: "Work It" provides a deep acid bassline, a solid 4/4 groove and hip-house vocals whilst "Intermission" stands out with its combination of a rap vocal, heavy wobble bass and synthy atmospherics.
Review: Rising Welsh DJ/producer Jay Robinson has made himself right at home with the Night Bass label, here presenting his third EP for the imprint. If ain't broke and all that. There are four turbo charged bass pounders packed on to this release, starting with the bad man bounce of opener "Fury". Next is the creepy, bleepy shuffle of "The Model", before he gets his wobble out on the skippy "Red Dot". Lastly he wraps things up with the UKG-informed "The Start", which is actually the end, but Robinson never plays by the rules.
Review: There we were, thoroughly enjoying Welsh DJ Jay Robinson's brand of doomy bass heavy house, when he disappears for ages! Now he's back with all fists flying on the Fight Music EP. There are three ferociously pissed off tunes here for the harder dancefloors out there. Opener "Dogfight" ducks and weaves with instrumental breaks, big breaks and some seriously growling bass. Elsewhere "Kombat Dub" is a taught and techy affair littered with video game samples and finally "Choker" is a straight out thumper with a bassline that's more likely to chew your leg off than ever fetch your paper!
Review: The Nightbass domination continues as long term bass revolutionary Jay Robinson puts together 'The Return' EP. In typical Jay fashion, the EP is outstanding and serves as a real lesson in rhythmic prowess. The title track A darkened demon, focused on lofi drum work and crunchy bass synths. This is followed by the funky grooves of 'Falling Upwards' and the monstrous lead synth design of 'The Ripper'. The EP is then finalized in style as the horn-like synths of 'The Melodic Weapon' take the reigns, driving this roller forward. This is a top project as ever from Jay Robinson and Night Bass look set to continue this incredible run of releases well into 2018 and beyond.
Review: A.C. Slater's Night Bass is a wildly successful, internationally renowned institution for ground breaking, forward-thinking dance music that's spearheading an underground movement across the U.S.A. The Los Angeles based imprint now serves up another one by label staple Jay Robinson: the ascendant Welshman who has previously appeared on Bingo Bass, Cr2 and Mau5trap. His new effort is "Pushing" featuring the captivating vocals of Ina Bravo - this bass driven tech house jam is so infectious. This is supported by second original offering "Wrong About You" - another vocal track which explores classic U.S. house aesthetic with a modern, and yes bass driven, twist!
Review: It's safe to say that Kry Wolf now has a rather impressive catalogue behind him, and nothing but quality under his belt. The man behind the Sounds Of Sumo label drops his latest release for Night Bass and it seems like the perfect place for his wondrous bass cuts. "Temper" is a slow, shape-shifting beast with a rattling percussion hook that wraps perfectly around the tune's knotted swarms of swamp bass, whereas "Flashlight" unleashes a bit of four-to-the-floor beneath a sea of rave sirens and purring bass tones. "Wavvves" feels like the last piece of hardcore continuum, a break-heavy, pseudo jungle killer to tie this man's bass experimentalism in the best possible way. Hot!
Review: Two premiere league UK bass enthusiasts Low Steppa and Taiki Nulight get their jack on for AC Slater?s Night Bass: ?Nose Powder? punches with a simple-but-deadly one note bassline technique. Warping, morphing and twisting all the way until we hit the classic garage chords on the breakdown; this guarantees hype on the floor. ?Nu Jam? rolls with slightly deeper feels as brushed hi-hats slink and slide over a slightly subtler bassline while an ominous sub hums with venom beneath. Killer.
Review: There is no doubting that at the moment, Notion is one of the biggest names in bass music worldwide, as we see him here link up with AC Slater's legendary Night Bass imprint for three tracks of pure fire. We begin our delving into this one with a trip through the title track 'Deadly Weapon', which is a nuclear strike of an original, packing a punch between it's hard hitting synth designs and sharp brass melodies. Next, the crunchy drum work of 'Trap Bitch' whirls into play, which takes a more subtle approach, focusing on large scale sub bass and vocal slices. Finally, we finish up with the shuffling synthesizer rolls of 'Slug 45', rounding up a very impressive body of work.

We here see him touch down on the legendary Night Bass imprint across four absolute heaters, including the unique synth riffs of the title track 'Fuego'. This is followed by the pounding dancefloor flavours within 'Trippin', before a weighty collaboration with Hot Goods rolls into place by the name of 'Dead Prez'. Finally, Purple Velvet Curtains joins the party with yet another smashing vocal introduction, as the futuristic techy tones of 'Dusk' wade into view.
Review: Great to know that despite all the wonted EDM Stateside, the likes of Petey Clicks in LA is keeping it real. "My House" is a tough, attitude-heavy slice of stomping wobble with the kind of bass that'll rattle your bones. If the UK vibes seem strong with this one it might be down to the influence of Sinden who collaborates with Clicks here on "Feels", a banger that adds chipmunk vocals and breakbeats to the mix in killer effect.
Review: Anglophile US producer Petey Clicks has made a name for himself with his impressively authentic take on underground UK bass sounds. He does so with his own unique twist of course, and this can be heard throughout. "Trash" starts things in a lairy mood with speedy 2-step beats, nasty bass and raw vocals. From there "If Ya" slams some raw tribal house into the mix, "Like Body" is lean muscular 4x4 and "The One" is a diva-garage anthem in the making.
Review: If there's one thing we can all agree on it's this: Petey Clicks needs to release music on much more of a regular then he currently does. These two jacking bass house tracks remind us exactly why... "VA To LA" slides us some gully gossip in the form of a grunting high end bassline and a clattering groove that bites down and refuses to let go. "Awake" takes us deeper down the rave rabbit hole with a classically-informed detuned synth riff, a twisted two-step and an amenised breakdown that's heavy enough to power a time machine (1.21 gigawatts) and take us all the way back to 92. Woke yet?
Review: It's been a hot minute since we heard from Phlegmatic Dogs, but they are back in major style as they return to the ever-impressive Night Bass imprint for an explosive two track EP project entitled 'No Cats'. We kick off with 'Cuatrocats' which brings energy through squelchy bass waves and perfectly processed 4x4 drum patterns in typical Phlegmatic fashion. On the flip we are introduced to 'Bounce', which takes a more techy experimental route, with subtle subs rolling lose amidst heavily attacking bass stabs and yet more precise drum design. A great return for the Dogs!
Review: The quality of Dave Ralston's recent productions have seen him become a staple on the UK bass scene, releasing through Night Bass and getting plays on Rinse FM and Radio 1. His last proper release was with Henderson last year, so it's good to get a new solo EP from him at last. "We Rock This" harks back to the days when hip-hop and house used get along better, being a skippy garage/4 x 4 jam with some cool MCing on top. On the digital flipside we have the deeper, housier drum -heavy afterhours gem, "All Night Long".

Always fine-tuning his brand of doomy bass heavy house, his latest single, 1987 has already picked up support from the likes of My Nu Leng, Shadow Child, Toddla T and Herve. "Carnage" and "Guttural" kick things off with vintage samples and bouncy bass, "Throwback" is all about the epic breakdowns, the deep and nasty "Shutdown" is an EP highlight and "The End" fuses dubstep and hip-hop to devastating effect

His latest project sees him join forces with the goliath Night Bass imprint for three absolute stormers. We begin with the tear out tones of the title track 'Bite', before jumping into the more samba inspired funky rhythms of 'Cowbell'. We then round of with 'Don't Look Back', a sharp piece of certified dancefloor danger.
Review: It's been somewhat of a quiet start to the year for Shift K3y, who has been one of the most prominent figures in UK Dance music over the past few years, constantly pushing out original material laced with intense creativity. This EP see's him return to his tip top best as 'To The Floor' shuffles into play with it's unique, crunchy synthesized leads and bubbling 4x4 rhythms bringing a serious dose of dancefloor energy. On the flip, we are joined in collaboration mode by the legendary Taiki Nulight, one of Night Bass's most consistent flag flyers. He gets busy the hard hitting jacking drums and hypnotic percussive loops that inhabit 'SC4RY'.
Review: Originally a pioneer of fidget house with Herve and Switch, Graeme Sinden recently relocated to Los Angeles to regain his mojo. However, despite the ubiquitous EDM that surrounds him there, his sound still stays true to the good old UK. Here on the Crystal Maze EP he presents four sizzling new cuts - the dubby garage of the title track, the bouncey hip-house of "Southern Rhythm", the trippy bleeps of booty joint "To The Ground" and the badass wobble attack "To The Ground".
Review: Two of the most prominent faces on the Night Bass roster, Petey Clicks and former fidget house man, Sinden, have teamed up to deliver two punishing (in a good way) bangers. The title track gives a little UK 4x4 twist to a classic underground US house sound, whilst "Heartbeat" goes all out for the retro approach, with old skool organ stabs and wailing pitched-up diva vocals. Label boss AC Slater then delivers an utterly mesmerising electro-bass rejig of the title track and Hotfire injects some serious bottom end into their version of "Heartbeat". Ace sounds!
