No Art serves not only as an anagram for label owner ANOTR, but also as an outlet for the Amsterdam based producer/DJ/promoter’s own sounds - plus those of like minded artists. In only a mere few years, the label has amassed an impressive discography with releases from mainstay Toman, scene veteran Sante and newcomers like Rossi. and II Faces. Key releases such as Armand Van Helden VS ANOTR’s “Funk Phenomena”, Sidney Charles’ Keep On EP as well as the recent Lipid EP by MADVILLA & Mihai Popoviciu have cemented its position as one of the most exciting tech house labels right now.
Review: Smooth '90s house sounds coming out of Toman's Otro Mundo EP from ANOTR's No Art label goes as far to employ Archie Hamilton for a remix of "Patience - a deep and easy vibe given a slight pop and trance touch from Archie. "Otro Mundo'' holds down a minimal groove and panning side effects that saddle up with the track's country western/desert vibe alongside a techier set of sounds in "Sometimes Is Not Forever (original mix)" that's spun out by a doppler effect of voice, vocals and lighter synths. Mundo exotico! Enjoy.
Review: Amsterdam based duo ANOTR is comprised of Jesse Van Heijden and Oguzhan Guney, who have been making huge waves internationally. Here they present the first installment in the Expo Series for local scene heroes No Art, featuring eight killer cuts. From the pumping '90s house energy of "Atomic Air", the dubby swing-fuelled stomp of "Token", to the rolling tribal tech house of "Black Box" which is totally geared for summertime vibes on The White Isle, and the mesmerising tech house of "O.P.O.P." - the rising Dutch duo are at the top of their game on this one.
