Review: The Northside crew have put together a very excited pair of rollers here as Avaword, Slimy Ape & Grundy join forces to unleash a truly vibrant two-tracker. First up, 'Stomach Ache', sees the crew combine for a dubstep infused bubbler, with Avawords gunfinger-inducing vocal display playing the central roll, amidst a gritty 140 instrumental display, jam-packed with gnarly bass tones and hard hitting snare smacks to match. From here, Hayz arrives to unleash his remix, taking that Avaword vocal and somehow upping the intensity, stripping back the drums and focussing on an even more hard hitting bassline. Awesome stuff!
Review: Despite actively working away under his 4x4 alias, it's safe to say that Gru Var has struck gold with this latest steppers offering, joining forces with the ever-ready Northside team for a thump-packing pair of gritty originals. Opening up we have the thunderous synth roars of 'Landslide', a title track that packs a punch and is sure to send sound systems flying the second it drops, combining lethal LFO screeches with a gut punch of a kick drum. On the flip, a more jittery original arrives as 'Ear Worm', takes a more stripped back formula and decorates it with glittering laser tones and earth-shattering reese textures, giving us a very well balanced A & B-side back and forth.
