Analog Ist Besser
An Einem Donnerstag Im September - (5:17)
Analog Ist Besser - (4:29) Hot
Wir Sind Hier Nicht In Detroit, Dirk - (4:51)
Die Idee Ist Gut Doch Die Welt Ist Schon Zu Weit - (4:10)
Review: Gold Panda's Notown label welcomes new talent Hannes Rasmus to their fresh roster of artists with Analog Ist Besser. "An Einem Donnerstag Im September" is a beautiful house track with a gorgeous set of percussion segments and one hell of a bassline - ranging from UK bass to balearic moods, while "Analog Ist Besser" contains some of the bounciest synth chords we've heard in a while. "Wid Sind Hier Nicht In Detroit, Dirk" aptly pays homage to the Motor City's techno flex, where Rasmus beefs up the beats and turns a little bit darker, whereas "Die Idee Ist Gut Doch Die Welt Ist Schon Zu Weit" brings in a serious dosage of electro muscle to the picture, finishing off the EP in fine style.

Modern Driveway
Modern Driveway - (5:33) 128 BPM Hot
Hand Drawn Maps - (3:15) 110 BPM
Ovals - (3:03)
Carrage - (4:11) 117 BPM
Meeting Hill - (7:08) 127 BPM
Review: Clearly, the sensational season enjoyed by the city's football side has had no effect on Norwich resident Luke Abbott. That's not to say that Modern Driveway is a dour and subdued EP - there's plenty of beauty to be found, particularly on the vintage synth-laden "Hand Drawn Maps" and ambient cut "Ovals" - but it's hardly laden with joy. There's something pleasingly bittersweet and melancholic about most of the tracks, which come loaded with the sort of fuzzy synth sounds and bubbling analogue rhythms usually found in IDM productions. The title track is the most obvious "house" production, but even then it comes cloaked in tear-jerking emotion. Perhaps Mr Abbott is an Ipswich fan.
