Started as a Soundcloud music channel, OnlyDrums was made into a label in January 2022 and they haven't looked back. Founder/owner Decrypt has kept things moving supplying nothing but quality underground drum and bass, carving the way for the scenes best upcoming talent.
Blacked Out (StillZ & Jack Reeves remix) - (4:28) 175 BPM
Review: Grab your brother a ladder! Decrypt's near anthemic banger from last year 'Blacked Out' gets the treatment in two different ways: first up is the unholy VIP that tears the place apart with lightening switches and added aggy factor to the bass. Meanwhile on the remix front StillZ and Jack Reeves give the original a fresh sense of energy with a new bassline and powerful groove. Both versions keep MC Mookz slap bang centre in the mix with those iconic vocals still doing bits. See you in the rave!
Review: It's barely been a year since his debut release on Subway Soundz but Insightz has flown out of the gate with a whole barrage of bangers on labels such as Good 4 Nothing, Audiofelonz, Covert Garden, Smokin Riddims, Horizon Audio and of course Only Drums where he drops his most extensive collection so far. Vibes range from the absolutely bone crushing grooves of 'Dystopia' (which is reminiscent of Dominator's type of sledgehammer style) to the bouncier, weirder tones of 'Nothing But Trouble'. Elsewhere things get super freaky on the bleep rave sensation 'Massive In Da Place' and 'Get Out' is pure laser business with a touch of grot.
Review: If you're after something hooky and addictive then Decrypt's 'Take Cover' should not be overlooked. Rocking with a snake-like hook that's quite similar to Chase & Status's 'The Druids' in terms of its cadence and nagging nature, there's plenty of space of MC Mookz to lay down his thoughts with clarity. 10/10 for the literine reference, Mookzy keeps it fresh. Complete with extra bars from Scoobs and Octane on the vocal version and an instrumental for those times when you're already graced with an MC on stage, you best keep this one covered!
Review: OnlyDrums get biblical on our chops for their latest VA as some seriously bright new-gen sparks fire off in all kinds of jumpy and dancefloor directions. Kensei & Decrypt go old testament with the Belgian-esque screamer 'Prepare To Die' while Lundy & Foe flip the mission into something much more stealthy and darkside with 'The Apocalypse'. And so the fire burns... Decrypt brings the drama on 'Shotty Round', Devro & 10AD super charge us with 'Load'. Finally, as mother nature wheezes her last ciggie-stenched breath, 'Zootie' declares 'End Of All Time' over a waspy, high voltage bassline. You think it's over? Not until Chuck UK calls us all 'Pathetic Fools' its' not. Read them and weep.
Decrypt & 10AD - "Box Ya Head Off" - (3:42) 175 BPM
Decrypt & Alphaze - "Bubblegum" - (4:27) 175 BPM
Cherish - (3:42) 175 BPM
Self Destruct - (4:28) 175 BPM
Review: Decrypt has delivered a real treat with this latest collection of original rollers, coming to us courtesy of OnlyDrums, who have undoubtedly unearthed a gem here. First up, 'Take Me Away' combines gnarly bass drones and punchy drums for a fiery introduction, followed by both the catchy bitcrushed warbles of 'Murda U', and heavily distorted bass notation of 'Box Ya Head Off' alongside 10AD. Next up, another collaboration as Alphaze brings some additional sauce to the grizzly horns of 'Bubblegum', which is followed by both the ear-creaking 8 bit synths of 'Cherish' and system-mashing bass crunches of 'Self Destruct' to close us off.
Review: Young Shills comes through with the thrills on OnlyDrums but will they pay the bills? Let's find out... 'Enter' is definitely brutalist enough to call up the water companies and tell them to stop pumping waste into our water, 'Adding Seconds' brings enough feels to get a reduction on your gas bill while the savage breaks and growling sub is heavy enough to scare off any council tax official. Elsewhere 'Loud Enough' makes enough noise to get you a discount on OnlyFans while 'Take It Easy' hits you so hard you'll be adding to your tick bill within seconds. Pay the Shills, ignore the bills!
Review: Riddle us this... If your Foe gives you a warning does that make them your friend? In the case of this particular warning, we'd say most definitely. A blazing collection of contemporary dancefloor cuts via the ever-reputable OnlyDrums, vibes range from the opening eerie tension and grotty lasers of the title track to the utterly disgusting swampy textures of the finale banger 'Alone In The Dark'. Along the way there are plenty of other sweet sonics such as the mid 2000s flavoured grumbler 'Dutty Finga', the madcap frenzy 'Phantom Zone' and some savage bars from Scoobs on 'Plan B'. Friendly fire.
Review: Fresh from his Wonka workouts on Good 4 Nothing, Latvian jump up wizard Heskk gets all secretive and espionagey about everything. Secret documents about chainsaw basslines and diesel-fuelled beats of 'D Time', spying on frogs because they're believed to be the source of such grot on the squelch-slapping 'Other Side' and deadly drop-off points on the swinging bumps of 'Pieces', the list of private appointments goes on and on. For your ears only.
Review: Is anyone 'Out There'? It's the question humankind has been asking itself since the dawn of eyeballs. Now 10AD is joining the celestial quest... And he's got a whole troop of badboy astronomers with him; Froidy, Nexus, MC Steve and Smuggler are all on board for this cosmic conundrum and the results are every bit as planet-colliding as you'd hope. From the gruff swing of 'Pure Evil' to the twisted spiralling sound design of 'Insane' via the alien textures and stutters of 'Room', there's a whole stack of evidence that other life forms don't just walk among us... They make drum & bass too. Essential misfit music.
Review: Young Mannik tears into 2024 with his biggest, baddest release so far... 'Imperfection' on OnlyDrums. Featuring the likes of 10AD and Zootie, this six track shredder session is a full-strength attack of the senses with nothing but the dancefloor in its targets. Highlights include the sheet metal slaps and scrapes of 'Scatty Bro' (with Zootie), the cold, tense build-up and savage drop of 'Bitch' and the lower, gravelly dirt blasts of 'Guardian'. Perfect.
Review: What a cracking year 2023 has been for the OnlyDrums collective. Wallop after wallop, smash after smash, every release from the label has been check-on-sight and this VA of brand new originals is definitely no exception. Representing the new-gen to the max, cuts like NTG & Masson's high voltage 'Last Vice', Decrypt's addictive low-slung mischief-maker 'Everything I Do' and the wild rasping laser bass of Zootie & Masimba's brilliantly titled 'Daddy's Got A Gun' all fire with a fresh unruly energy and that's barely scratching the surface of this exceptional collection. We can't wait to see what OnlyDrums bring in 2024!
Review: Another wicked selection makes its way to the front of the store here from the Onlydrums team, welcoming both Foe & Kensei inside for six tracks of raucous original energy. First up, the pair combine their productive talents on the hellish soundscapes of 'Demons', followed by the twisted backdrops and syncopated drum slides of 'See The Love'. Next, Foe arrives on solo duty as 'Flying Kick', firstly providing us with a bulbous bass slap, focussing on stripped back drum designs, followed by the audacious synth ideas of 'The Immortal' for a nice contrast. Finally, Kensei delivers two additional heaters with 'Territory' being a nuclear weapon, ready to detonate lethal synth designs on any dancefloor, alongside the more roller-driven arrangements of 'Feeling Lucky'. Top work from both!
Review: Released 18 months ago, Decrypt returns to his monstrous "Too Dutty" and gives it a serious VIP lick of paint. Big reeces, cut throat breaks and a drop into the springiest of riffs, it's a hurricane of savagery hurtling at you at a speed of 174BPM. Need even more drama? Get busy with Smuggler's remix. Barking basslines and swooping strings on the breakdown, this really is so dutty you need a wash after dropping it.
Review: After a slew of powerful jams on the likes of Good 4 Nothing, Subway Soundz and Sub Heavy Audio, Lundy continues to invade our senses with this massive OnlyDrums debut. Weighing in at six tracks, there's plenty of space for the young UK producer to stretch his legs and show us what he's all about. Flexing from tense, horror-style shredders ('Heaven') to the more sensual, sugar sweet vibes of 'Take It' via the heavyweight thrust and grunt of the title track 'Ice', he covers a lot of ground without ever losing sight of the dancefloor. Massive.
Review: From the V to the I to the P; three little letters mean such big things for any card carrying junglist. Especially those who follow the good work of OnlyDrums who are revisiting key cuts from their discography and reboosting them with all-essential VIP energy 10AD's album title track from 2022 brings even more string-surged drama with 'High Roller', Vital's 'Fire' hits with even more heat while Decrypt & Inforce's 'Good Time' brings so many good times there's a danger Chic might come and kick your door down! Elsewhere Jhitzu's bullet-busting 'Revive' has an extra twist in the bassline while CXM's 'Voicemail' from 2022 gets an added layer of drama to the mix. Give OnlyDrums a call today!
Review: Summer time calls for summer snacks and what better than a cool and creamy 'Cornetto'? Here's one served up by Bristol's Magness. Last spotted on Liondub with his album Art Of War, he's now serving up the goodies on OnlyDrums and they cross the whole menu... The title track itself is nice and refreshing with its mild trance element in the synths. 'Where's My Baccy' takes us deep into the most entitled corners of Bristol for a good old smoke and a moan before 'Chunky Funky' bursts through the fog with rippling cosmic charm. Finally 'Let Me Love You' closes the EP with a series of gentle piano strokes and a wonderful soulful vocal sample. Cool as ice cream.
Review: OnlyDrums link up with Decrypt once again for some codebreaking carnage. Six cuts in total, with cameos from MC Mookz, Jhitzu and 10AD along the way, it's another grot parade as Decrypt gets mucky with the bass designs and stark, minimal grooves. Highlights include the groaning graveyard funk of 'No Way Out' (with 10AD), the super buzzy Hexa-style bassline revs of 'I Wanna Know' and the savage, 2012-style bouncey bassline title track 'Blacked Out'. Heavy.
Review: Vital returns to the scene of the OnlyDrums crime for the first time since the label's launch release in January '22 and there's a lot to celebrate here. Flavours for everyone; 'Miracles' goes all-in with the stinkiest basslines the label has ever released, 'Wind Up' is a big one for those cheeky switch ups and springy funk blasts, while 'Bullet To The Head' is a trippy, leftfield take on minimal steppery and 'Hopeless' swaggers with kicks so wide you'll think your ears have expanded and there's something wrong your intestines. We believe in 'Miracles'.
Review: OnlyDrums continues to thrive at the forefront of the current rave energy with this savage six track VA attack. Featuring a range of exciting new names, the likes of Foe & Krusty, Decrypt, 10AD, Hook, N.T.G and Masson all get stuck in and deliver some disgusting dynamics. Highlights include the blazing, brazen drama of 'Franky 4 Fingers', the deliciously wobbly licks and kicks of 'Crystal' and epic, tightly coiled spring funk and timeless riffage of Masson's finale 'Jumper'. Bouncing!
Review: Following recent bassline brawls on labels such as Scoped, Subway and DNB Allstars, the always consistent Alphaze lays his hat down at OnlyDrums with this hefty spread of dancefloor tackle. As always with Alphaze, there's a sense of mischief between the dark and light as a punished basslines twist up and fold in with funk and a playful groove. The housey vocal on 'Motivation', the brazen trippy naughtiness of 'Weird Sounds' and the melting, groaning bassline on 'Hat Trick' (with Nexus) are just three examples.
Review: Stop, saddle up and listen. Rodeo's back with some brand new inventions. And boy do they gallop! As always with Rodeo, it's all the riff as he hits us hard with unforgettable funk and fire and the type of riffs you'll be humming for days to come. Highlights on this particular hoe-down is the tongue in cheek sample and tightly coiled bassline funk on 'Mr Sister' and the weird, woozy bass textures on 'Constantly'. Ride 'em pal.
Review: Houston, we have a banger... Foe graduate from astronaut school and 'Lift Off' on an OnlyDrums rocket for a trip around the jump-up solar system. From the horn-melting, asteroid-smashing 'Fiend' to the milky way-munching gutter bass of 'Don't Fight It' to nebula-flexing title track itself, this is the sound of Foe at their most energetic and creative. Complete with a Krusty-collab, it's time to strap in and feel the Gs!
Review: Shots fired! After several cameos on the label, Jhitzu hits the OnlyDrums bullseye with this debut EP 'Bullets'. Killer cuts, each and every one of them, 'Bullets' brings a little anthemic energy on the euphoric breakdown, 'Revive' is a total and utter groaner with a twisted nagging bassline while 'Turf' brings a little dubwise skank magic before Vizion joins the fray for a jam that will have us all packing up and packing in. Guns out, funs out!
Review: Barely six months have passed since Decrypt told us all to 'Shut Up' on OnlyDrums but here he returns and he's rolling deep in big company as Jhitzu, Jay Jay, Inforce, Froidy and Sterxy all jump aboard to form some type of hench gully gang. Flavours range from savagely spicy to absolute fire as we're pushed and shoved from vibe to vibe. Highlights include the nagging chuggy groove and cosmic breakdown of 'Good Time' (with Inforce) the turbo-charged drama and disgusting wobbles of 'Ravers' (with Steryx and G3 MC) Get friendly.
Review: Putting the bang back into bangers, the currently unstoppable Froidy lands on OnlyDrums with some explosive results. 'Atomic Weapon' sets off the war cries with a mushroom cloud of grizzly basslines and 'No Tellin' follows with some brilliantly demented harmonics on the bass riff while 'Ghost Train' goes full-on creeper vibe with its sprawling range of low-end flavours and swampy subs. 'Pretender' brings the EP to a close with infectious hooky feels. Duck and cover!
Review: Leicester lads CXM and REWD link up for this walloping collection on OnlyDrums. Focused on the floor with pure fire coded into every element, 'Tonight' kicks off with an addictive spoken word vocal over an absolutely savage beat while 'On Sight' is pure menace, all stern and razor sharp. Elsewhere 'Pull It Up' plays ping-pong with our minds, bodies and souls as we bounce between basslines over a tightly coiled groove. Finally 'Delinquent' gets naughty over a grizzly, twisted jump-up lick. 'Tonight' is your night!
Review: Following his recent excursions on the likes of Pick The Lock and Kartoons, OnlyDrums bossman 10AD goes in deep with his debut LP. Pure unadulterated dancefloor power, High Roller lives up to its name in every direction; cuts like the title track bring a sense of funk and class thanks to big musical sweeps while cuts like 'Missing' bring the level up with major league cameos from the likes of Traumatik. Other collabo appearances include Froidy on the stalking dark funk creeper 'Heavy Init' and Decrypt on the scatty, springy 2012-flavoured banger 'Things They Do'. 'Spaceboy' brings the final note on a slower, old school breaks flex. Ready for take off?
Review: FACT: El Pablo is actually short for 'bloody hell Pablo, these are some serious bangers!' This official debut EP is evidence. Four despicable originals courtesy of OnlyDrums, the vibes are alive from the off as DRZ joins the fray with the glitchy, guttural funk-up 'Breathe'. Elsewhere we have the sensual vocals and prowling groove of 'Skin', the ceiling raising thrusts and bumps of 'Resolute' and the dramatic grand finale All I Need (with Curt) Proof is in the playing...
Review: Finally some motivational advice we could all benefit from: Decrypt slams down on OnlyDrums with the words everyone needs to hear from time to time - 'Shut Up'. The message is delivered with 10AD over a heavyweight Dominator-style beat and it's backed up by more equally powerful and forthright heat. Highlights include 'Too Dutty', an almighty headbutt of a tune similar to late 2000s Original Sin, 'Time To Choose', a spiky game of trippy Q&A bassline stabs, and the cranium-aiming 'Headshot'. Stay schtum and listen.
Review: There's no stopping Harley D right now as he lays down these monthly murky sermons on a whole array of labels ranging from Serial Killaz to his forthcoming missive on the mighty Crucast. Right now though he's on OnlyDrums with five examples of absolute bassline blazery. Highlights range from the sudden switches and shocking 4x4 finale of 'Crisis Zone' to the trippier, bad dream flexes of 'Hide N Seek'. Elsewhere 'Critical Condition' hits hard with the big steppy slaps and 'Jump' sees him linking up with Konetix on a rifle-like 2012-flavoured jam. Critical by name, critical by nature.
Review: Listen very carefully we shall say this only once... D-Flex is making his debut on OnlyDrums with a walloping six track collection. High energy as ever, and packed with more switches than a powerplant, highlights on D-Flex's biggest release to date include the classic Taxman-flavoured energy of 'The Crew', the menacing drones and dark matter slammage of 'Drop The Bass' and the brazen distortion and firing vocals on the title track 'Listen'. And that's only half of it. Get some flexual healing today.
Review: Time to ditch that OnlyFans subscription and sign up to OnlyDrums. Same principal - hot stuff sent direct to your senses, just a hell of a lot more fulfilling and vibey. Vital takes the honour of the label's first full paid release and it's nothing short of a four-track fire up. Each cut tickles a different corner of the dancefloor. Highlights include the crisp, duck-like quacks on the bassline of 'Fire', the tension and release on the Bristol-sounding 'Live & Direct' and the classic jungle elements on the title track 'System Check'. Check it out.
