Review: It's been a long time that Miguel Campbell's label has been dishing out slick, modern disco house pearlers, and the mission continues apace as Matt Hughes makes an appearance with this confident long player. Across 13 tracks Hughes explores refined musicality, focusing on unfussy arrangements that lay down pure good vibes dance music to appeal across the board. There are some particular moments that stand out, such as the laid back funk licks of "Synthetic Love" with its restrained Metro Area-style groove, while "Night Call" makes a leap towards Balearic bliss with its smooth guitar lines and soothing pads.
Review: Ibiza-dwelling synth man, Miguel Campbell, bravely stood out from the shadow of Hot Creations for his recent second LP, Night Drive Without You. Now following on from its success we get the remixes. This first installment of rerubs features five new jams, three of which are by MAM: the Imagination-esque slow funk of "Collision", the vocoder-led robo grooves of "Light & Darkness" and the Les Rhythmes Digitales-style 80s vibes of "The Music". There is also a sleek dub version of the latter as well as a cool moody electro version of "Melody Of Love" by Minotta & Stephane Deschezeaux.

Review: Originally hailing from Leeds, nu-disco producer Miguel Campbell got a taste for Ibiza and didn't leave for three years. Following on from his popular debut on Hot Creations, he now presents his second LP on his own Outcross Records, Night Drive Without You, recorded in his adopted home. The title sounds like a million 80s titles rolled into one and the music is equally indebted to that era of synths and style. Highlights include the boogiefied FM synths of "Outrun", the Kavinsky vibes of "Collision" and the Daft Punk-style electro-pop of "Light & Darkness".
