Review: Peng's Andy Compton has only recently started to collaborate with The Sowetan Onesteps, and already has their relationship transformed into a marriage of sorts. The subtle mixture of house together with African nuances is both alluring and refreshing to the ear, particularly because it sounds in no way forced. What we mean is that tunes like "Time", "Pushit", or "Slam" exude an organic sort of vibe, where Compton mild-tempered house beats slide ever so well into the more tribal, more percussion-centric rhythms of The Sowetan Onesteps. It's an understated album that should be heard and respected by anyone into good, solid house music with a twist.
