Review: Mousse T is man who likes his grub, he even calls his albums things like Gourmet De Funk, and here's his record label's latest culinary themed compilation for our aural palette. Dubbed 'Menue Two", this long player takes in a wide number of styles and tempos and makes it all work in that typical Mousse T way. It's quite a mouth (or ear?) full, taking in loungey jazz ("De La Bass"), soulful pop-rock ("Rock You"), bloc-rockin' electro-funk ("Coffee Break") and even handbaggy house (T's own remix of "You Came My Way"). Go get yourself a bellyful.

Review: With previous releases on labels such as DISKO, Urban Torque, Seven Music and Sccucci Manucci, Autodeep continue to preach the good word of deep house on Peppermint Jam with this wonderfully slow-mo jam. Bajka's cat-like vocals purr over the beats with decadence while the groove tickles with equal measures of funk and drama. Remix-wise Ripperton's shivering pad-soaked remix is reminiscent of early Deep Dish material. Kruse & Nurnberg opt for more a classical US garage feel while Lorie spaces things out on a deep, woozy chuggy flex. Lovely stuff.

Review: Originally released in 1996, Ultra's soul sizzler gets a futurised refix as Mousse T unearths a few renditions that have yet to see the light of day. As with anything that features Roy Ayers, it's all about the freaky keys that positively insist you shake every wobbly bit on your body. Highlights include the flute and jazz fusion of Deepzone's dub and the classic Chicago house bumps and wriggles on KKC's remix. Mousse T's own deep house take certainly isn't to be sniffed at either. Vibes indeed.

Review: It's been 12 years since Boris Dlugosch bothered the charts with "Never Enough", his radio-friendly disco-house collaboration with Moloko's Roisin Murphy. Back in May, Dlugosch's Peppermint Jam label released a swathe of new remixes; here, they present another five versions. Remix competition winner Kai von Glasgow opens proceedings with a brilliantly deep rework that sits somewhere between classic broken beat and two-step influenced deep house. German house veteran Ian Pooley provides a chunky, boompty-influenced Raw Dub, while FNM cleverly combines raging acid with string-laden disco on his rework. Elsewhere, Ricky Martioli takes the track into smoother, nu-disco influenced territory, and Sahin Meyer drops a tasty deep house tweak.

A celebration of a Mousse T classic and a fine snapshot of where house music is at in 2013, Peppermint Jam are bang on the money with this one.

Review: With multiple releases on Salted Music, Simma Red and Street King to his name, Soledrifter (real name Dimitry Mescheryakov) is well-established within the global house scene. Here the Canada-based Russian returns to Peppermint Jam with a second single for the long-running German imprint (his first appeared back in 2018). 'Need To Get Down' offers the perfect balance between rubbery disco and jazz-flecked deep house warmth, with rich chords, dewy-eyed female vocal snippets, jaunty synth riffs and short sax samples enveloping funky bass guitar and organic-sounding drums. 'That Chance' is deeper and more immersive in tone, with Mescheryakov tipping a wink to the spacey sounds of late '90s UK tech-house/deep house fusion.
