Chromaphon EP
Played by: Hybu
Review: This new EP from UK production duo Jakeone and Rich Thair sees the pair exploring fun and driving tropical pop on title tune "Chromaphon", whilst slow acid grooves are the order of the day on the excellent 808-fuelled "Wavaphon". The gentle oscillating chords of "Rotating Road" are also well worth checking out, as is the gentle weird-step of "Harmonic Ping" if smart indie-tronica floats your boat.

Voyeurism In High Definition
Played by: Matt.M, Denney
Review: London label Process has put out a series of impressive melodic techno releases lately, and its latest record, Djamel's Voyeurism In High Definition, fits this bill. Over a warm, rolling groove, Djamel lays down a sensuous, sublime melody line and some jazzy keys that ebb and flow together seamlessly. Process artist Corrugated Tunnel delivers a version that makes nods to the current techno trend for found sounds and abstract textures, and the end result is a gloriously woozy version for the dancefloor. Meanwhile, the Lo Def take has a more liquid, fluid feeling, as Djamel's melodies are laid over lithe yet rolling rhythms.

Fase Due
Review: Italian breakbeat duo Soogowonk drop three new tracks on the Process label, with the cosmic bass of "Turbo-G" sounding positively dripping with tense energy. The tough, almost Kavinsky-like slo-mo robotics of "The Would Be Suicide" is equally impressive, while "Electro Department" fill out the space with moody dub delays over the Moroder-ish synths. For those that like their breaks on the darkside.

Hypocrisy
Review: Ecuador born, New York raised master of re-invention, Abe Duque sees the last instalment of his Don't Be So Mean series on Process Recordings. The album and its accompanying singles and tour have been a complete success but one track, "Hypocrisy" was just too late to make the record the first time around. Having been a staple in Duque's DJ sets for the last eighteen months, it finally emerges will the help of two reworks from the legend that is John Digweed. Signalling the end of this project, it is also the introduction to his next venture - the Live And On Acid compilation set for a release this summer.
