Review: This new EP from UK production duo Jakeone and Rich Thair sees the pair exploring fun and driving tropical pop on title tune "Chromaphon", whilst slow acid grooves are the order of the day on the excellent 808-fuelled "Wavaphon". The gentle oscillating chords of "Rotating Road" are also well worth checking out, as is the gentle weird-step of "Harmonic Ping" if smart indie-tronica floats your boat.
Review: Italian breakbeat duo Soogowonk drop three new tracks on the Process label, with the cosmic bass of "Turbo-G" sounding positively dripping with tense energy. The tough, almost Kavinsky-like slo-mo robotics of "The Would Be Suicide" is equally impressive, while "Electro Department" fill out the space with moody dub delays over the Moroder-ish synths. For those that like their breaks on the darkside.
