Project Allout

Steel City grit, mutating, seismic bassweight and a laser-focused, attentive penchant for developing local and national prospects alike, Project Allout (known fondly as PAR) are one of the vital driving forces behind the booming UK Bass, Bassline and electronica-etched Grime scenes. Constructed in 2011 by well-regarded scene innovator Skillz, PAR have been behind some of the biggest releases and artists for the past decade; a successful tenure filled with achievement and memorable releases. With a high level of quality control and a knack for breaking top-tier artists, they’ve worked closely with Dubzta, Spooky, Tuff Culture, Notion, Moony, Conducta and more, whilst playing a key role in the journey of many heavyweight, pioneering artists like Skepsis, Deadbeat UK, Dr Oscillator, Moony, Darkzy, Distinkt, Killjoy and Thorpey. A hailed key release from 2020 - Lil Milly’s ‘Bumba Funk’ - was an instant classic, spawning a viral video that entertained thousands, soundtracked by a bubbling furnace of welded bassline pressure. With one game-changing, influential decade already under their belt, PAR look well set to keep upping their progressive mentality on every front.

Review: It's usually good news when a new Project Allout EP lands in the store, with this latest three-track display from Manny Mashup & Mudz seeing the label return to their bassline-inspired roots. Right from the jump we are doused in old-school niche flavour as the numerous bass synths and skippy drum designs of 'Blast Off' give us an explosive intro, followed by the more abstract bass warbles and crunchy drum sounds of 'Hiya Riddim', which takes a pretty memorable sample and switches it on its head. Finally, the energy levels hit their peak on 'Yoshi's Demise', which again draws influence from the original niche sound to give us a fiery final punch.

Review: Mudz x Breeza pulling no punches on Project Allout with a lyrically gifted EP getting down and dirty; be it the sharp and cheeky footballing references in "Jermaine Defoe" with its wobble-wobble next to the topsy-turvey grime tones of "Trendin" - shouts out D Knight! Curbing some of the aggy energy for a vocoded, R&B-styled session in "If You Love Breeza" until the verses hit, there's shouts out to Dillinger in "Indica" with the duo serving up a fidget-spitting lyrical barrage that dives deep when the bassline hits! And keeping on that tip all the more is the dizzying drops of "Large" - a number that completes one of the freshest EPs to come out of this Sheffield connect. Don't sleep.

Review: Following on from a wavy drop with Project Allout last year, the legendary Sheffield imprint welcomes back the sounds of DJ Pantha for a fully fleshed out project, jam packed with original niche goodness. Firstly, 'Bristol Riddim' combines classic 4x4 bassline designs with highly energetic drum skips for a high impact intro, followed by more dancefloor ready brilliance in 'Dudley Riddim'. The third tracks runs with a title that you can see for yourself is likely to cause a few heads to turn, again playing on classic bassline themes with some beefy production behind it, before 'Twat Dub' once again ups the pace for a fiery finale. This is a rave ready selection that we can't wait to hear in the dance.

Review: We love to see a new Project Allout release hit the shelves and this brand new drop from Juzlo is exactly the sort of energy we have been craving. We kick off with the super colorful percussive smashes and high-energy grooves of 'Drumplay', a worthy title track that uses nostalgic basslines to inject a little fun into any set. Next, 'Oh No' arrives, weaving more interesting percussive melodies with throwback garage rhythms, before 'Ruffest' deploys some super bouncy carnival drum work to up the pace yet again. Finally, the legendary Spooky jumps on board for a super groovy remix to 'Drumplay', rounding off yet another catchy selection from team PAR.

Review: The Project Allout family are well known as a top-quality supplier of futuristic 4x4 bass music, with their most recent drop following suit as they welcome Weekz for a top-quality four-track delight. The niche flavours are strong as the title track 'Badboy' unleashes a vibrant array of squelching LFO runs and high energy drum lines before 'Respect' switches up the rhythms and melodies for something a little more unorthodox. Next, Den S joins us for the super choppy VIP mix of 'Shades On' which combines weird synthesizer action with bouncy drum designs before rounding off with 'I'm A Bad', a gnarly sublow roller featuring the vocal exploits of Fess7R. Wicked stuff!

Review: We definitely feel that over the years, Dubzta's production talents have been somewhat underappreciated by both the grime and bass scenes, with his insatiable appetite for a vibrant roller never ceasing to amaze us. This brand new EP on the ever-ready Project Allout is yet another example of that, with the title track 'Pandemic' combining warbling LFO action with skippy 2-stepping drum designs beneath some epic orchestral sample work. The remixes are where this release really heats up, however, with Killjoy firstly supplying us with a pulsating big room overhaul, alongside DJ Airmax's super bouncy niche refit and crunchy garage version. Finally, Venz does what Venz does best and sends the track to the 4x4 shredder, laying its stems amidst catchy vocal chops and a high energy selection of bass sounds to put the cherry on the cake for this release selection.

Review: Following on from a number of recent successes with the releases they have been pulling together, Project Allout return once again with a rave ready care package, this time welcoming Mudz inside for five tracks of 4x4 fire. We begin with the title number: 'Rage & Rave', a shimmering niche skanker, packed with original bassline energy, leading into the much more grimey soundscapes of 'Captain Raveman'. From here, the swampy bass tones of 'Output' are let loose, before the more high pitched synth riffs of 'Back With A Bang' deliver some original dancefloor energy. We then round off with the metallic synthesizer slides of 'Bark Riddim', which puts the touches on yet another explosive drop from the PAR family.

Review: The Project Allout team have continuously supplied us with top quality bass music for as long as we can remember, so to see them still operating at the highest echelon is incredibly pleasing. They do the business with this next release as they unveil the first edition of their brand new 'Wobblers' compilation series, focussed on showcasing the most lively 4x4 bassline music out there right now. An impressive roster has been assembled for this one, including legendary names such as Killjoy, Palize, J69 and more, with a host of newer bassline talent decorating the tracklisting from start to finish. The outright power and nostalgic synth work of 'The Abyss' from Liam B Line is an immediate standout, alongside the pleasing, more high ended wobbling synthesizer work of 'Shut Up' from Weekz. Wicked job!

Review: As ever with Project Allout releases, we couldn't wait to dive into this one and explore the new workings of one of their most recent signings: Lil Milly, who supplies us with three tracks of pure bassline fire. We begin with 'BumbaFunk' a worthy title track that became a viral twitter video, racking up over 100,000 views and gaining some serious traction, primarily due to it's classic niche-nature. From here we dive into the quirky percussive slaps and swirling LFOs of 'Break Down' before the minimal yet super effective structures of 'Big Bad Bass' see us out in style. The first of which is brought to us by Hate-Rid, with an EP stacked with bassline and UKG delights, kicking off on the grizzly synth maneuvers of the title track 'Nasty Bastard'. The project is most certainly dripping in nostalgia, as the early niche bassline vibes of 'No Way', 'Hustlers Riddim' and 'Quaver Teef' give us a blissfully taste of original 4x4 bassline flavours. Review: It's time to really dial it back to the old school as the legendary Project Allout here return to give us a dose of nostalgic bliss, as Froidy arrives on the scene with a back of 4x4 niche bangers. We kick this one off with a look at the lively title track 'Wub Ting', an original that combines carnival chords with wild wailing wobbles to bring life to any party. The high energy vibes continue into the catchy vocal slices of 'See Things Clear', along with the high, whining synth patterns of 'In My Lyf'. Finally, we finish our delvings into this project with a look at 'High Grade', a straight scatty screamer, combining rapid fire LFO machine gun fire with classic bassline drum work to round this one off in good spirits.

Review: As ever with Project Allout, it's a high quality return as they here enlist Kyle George for a bubbling three track selection, which kicks off with the title track '51 Distrikts'. This track is a very good showcase of how to put together a bassline banger, dripping in colourful bass designs and sharp, well processed drum rhythms. The blips are out in full force for the following track as 'All I Want' switches between lethal LFO's and rising beeps to create a really cool back and forth. Finally, 'The Individual' ups the tempo for the last hurdle, packing a serious punch between it's trap-like half time breakdowns and scatty tearout drops.

Review: It's been a short while since we last heard from the Brightonian UKG heavyweight, but what a joy it is to see Moony return to Project Allout for yet another scorcher of an EP. We kick off this one with a more unusual creation from Moony as the title track 'Stress' combines soulful vocal slices, glittering arpeggios and potent subs simmering below over a half time drum structure. This is accompanied by two fantastic remixes as Killjoy firstly gives the original a 4x4 makeover, followed by Creep N00M's choppy grime-style refix. We are also blessed the incredibly colourful soundscaping of 'Broke Comp' which rounds everything up in serious style.

Review: Project Allout are well known within both the grime and bass scenes for their outstanding compilation work, including their highly respected 'Krampus' series, which here enters its third season. We see a line up absolutely bristling with power as PAR regulars such as Deadbeat UK, Juzlo, Mr Dubz, JG, Dubzta and more all return with some seriously weighty contributions, along with newer faces such as Smodi, Rollsie and more. For us, the highlights include LJ & G1's super skippy 'Bullseye' original, alongside Sir Pixalot's corking melodic composition named 'Transparency'.

Review: It's been extremely enjoyable to see the re-emergence of Sheffield's Project Allout label, one of the longest standing bass imprints to still be releasing heavyweight releases monthly. For this latest project they have brought in the sounds of PZP, a producer who needs no introduction. We kick off with the lethal LFO rolls and skippy drum movements of 'Dancefloor', followed by 'I Can't Get Enough', a high energy bassline stormer. Next, the VIP mix of 'Escape' rolls into view with more violent bass designs, followed up in style by 'Strap', a screaming piece of bassline brilliance.

Review: It's always a pleasure to see Project Allout pushing forward with fresh grime music, this time seeing them team up again with Russian grime wizard Creep N00m. He lands here across six absolute heaters, kicking off with the dungeon-like percussive expressions of 'Rat', the super catchy 'Neat Riddim', previously vocalled by Luciferian, and the lethal LFO movement of 'Jericho'. It gets epic next as 'Last MC' rolls into play, driven by extreme sidechaining and evil orchestral structures, chased up by the super tight asian themes of 'Dojo Riddim' and finally the super creative drum structures of 'SHLN', putting the lid on an exceptional body of work.

Review: When we talk about bass music in the UK, there aren't many people who boast as comprehensive a catalogue as Deadbeat UK, so when we heard he was teaming up with the legendary Project Allout we knew we were in for a treat. He brings us three belting originals here, kicking off with the constantly expanding and switching title track 'My Gang', a creation that boasts some wicked bass design, followed by the niche-inspired synth twists of 'Minesweeper'. Finally, we take a dive into 'The Best', which along with featuring a super catchy vocal line from Kase, is also a perfect garage bass hybrid, stuffed with skippy drumwork and grizzly bass instrumentation from start to finish.

Review: When we look back over both the roster and discography that we have seen the team at PAR assemble over the years, it is very difficult to not be incredibly impressed, with back catalogue boasting arguably one of the strongest selections in UK bass music. We here see them set out on another goliath conquest as they present their ninth birthday release 'PAR IS 9'. This project features a host of exciting guests, from heavyweight veterans such as Garna, DeadbeatUK and Moony, to more new school hard hitters such as S3 Dubs, Daze Prism and more. Highlights for us include Dubzta's grimey sheller 'Side Effect' and the madness of Sekt 87's skippy belter in 'Surge & Rush'.

Review: This is a wicked return to releasing for the Project Allout team who here enlist the assistance of Brock UK for a very nostalgic garage selection, featuring three original corkers. We begin our journey with the spacey atmospherics and familiar UKG style drum work of 'Ere Come' which sits above a lethal bass lead. This is then followed briskly by the slowly expanding LFO movements of 'Heart Sing', a more lofi garage creation laced with memorable vocal samples. Finally we drift into the flashback-invoking chord progressions and potent sub leads of 'All The Massive', putting the finishing touches on a fantastic project.

Review: Project Allout have made a very positive start to the year with a string of top quality releases, looking at new school grime and basslines compositions. This latest offering comes to us from Japanese producer Jacotanu, who lets loose the grimey fire across four scorching originals. To begin, 'Yato' brings skippy, hard hitting drum patterns with fluttering sub tones, before the rolling LFO pushes of 'Oceanus' are let loose to roam. Next, the rapid fire pulsating drum punches and expansive snare movements of 'Junk Craft' are hauled into play, before we finish up with the garage-like vocal slips and metallic drum designs of 'Hyperborea'. Excellent stuff!

Review: It's that time we look forward to so much again as Project Allout return again with another fantastic package, this time dipping and delving into the familiar realms of speed garage and bassline with three tracks of pure vibes from Froidy. The title track '2 High' is a super energetic piece of bass music, drawing from niche-inspired sound design and incredibly skippy drum patterns, followed by the smooth vocal tones and twisted bass synths of 'Things You Need'. We finish the project up with a look at Froidy's 'Tomorrow' remix, another niche driven spectacle and one we feel would rip the dance to shreds for certain.

Review: It's an exciting time for the Project Allout team as their latest roster reshuffle starts to come into play. We are gifted four grimey originals from Casement on this one, who makes one hell of a debut appearance. The title track 'Lunar' is a magnificent fusion between eskimo themes and breaksy drum designs, with the following recording 'Hide' running riot amidst an avalanche of square wave synthesizers. Next up we have 'Bill Collector' which works together skippy drum loops and a steadily building layer of atmospheric pressure, before 'Portal' rounds everything off in serious style with its high end emotive melodic structure, packed with unpredictable plucks and harmonic musings. Excellent work.

This one is a straight UK bassline tearer, switching between rapid fire metallic LFOs and the occasional blistering distortion, finding the perfect balance above a skippy drum selection. On remix duty, Wilkinsound and Nadine also get busy with their hard hitting refurbishments, before Hunt & Hypnotik return to finish up the EP in style with the shuffling bass leads of 'Lock In' and hard hitting synthesized evil of 'Compact Disc'. To begin this EP, we take a look at the euphoric introduction and uber shelly melodic breakdown of the title track 'Bug Eyes', which features additional work from Gater. Next up, fold over into the classic niche LFOs and skippy drum designs of 'Badman Sound', before rounding off the EP with a high energy dose of reesey bassline goodness in 'String Symphony', which adopts some real nostalgic UKG flavours to say the least.

Review: Having been announced a few weeks ago via a very well received threethousand.co.uk premiere, Project Allout bring forward this solid project from bassline top dog JG. We kick off with the "almost" title track 'Bring That Dub', which is a slithering bag of grooves, filled with very creative sound design across a range of synths. Following this we have 'I Wanna', which builds with electronic organs, delving into niche style bassline melodies and skippy drum chops, before we hit the more rapid fire bass wobbles of 'Run While You Can'. We finish up with the high pitched electronic patterns of 'I Wanna', putting the finishing touches on a very well thought out four tracker.

Review: It's been a brief minute since we saw a new release from the infamous Project Allout imprint, so we were thrilled to see they had announced this potent new project with grime warlord Spooky. This brief break in their release schedule we hear is down to internal restructuring, ensuring we receive nothing but top draw releases from the PAR camp. The title track 'Badboy' is Spooky is sparkling UKG form, bringing together old school-steppy bass structures and super skippy garage rhythms. The EP also brings up three official remixes, beginning with Deadbeat UK's reesey rework and speedy official revamp. Our highlight however would have to be Hamdi's mammoth dubstep overhaul, which works the bass melodies into skippy half time designs with great skill.

Review: As one of the grime and bass scene's standout label projects over the last 5 years, Project Allout have conquered much, constantly alternating between grime, dubstep, bass and garage, all with a real touch of finesse. This latest compilation sees the gang assemble in force as the likes of Sammy Virji, Killjoy, Palize, Deadbeat UK, Daze Prism and more heavyweight names bring their heat to the table. For us the standout tracks have to be Dunman's grimey roller in 'Chip On The Block' and of course Moony's amazonian funky ride out on 'M', a subby mover, designed to take the dance real low.
