Review: Pilooski and Pentile dust off their Discodeine machines and prepare for their highly anticipated sophomore set. Will it resonate with the same disco decadence as the debut did? If these two tracks are anything to go by, then yes indeed it will - and more. "Seabox" owes its allure to the careful use of overlapping cannon-like vocals and stark, plinky riff. Imagine Laid Back fighting with Hot Chip over an 808 and you're kind of there. "Gamelan" is a steaming slab of cosmic darkness. All atonal percussion and droning synths, it's an open window into an enticing psychedelic wonderland.

Review: Parisian electro experimentalists Scratch Massive have put together this rather attractive live album and it's quite the treat. Engaging from the off, there's a distinct church-like feel to each well-tempered slice of cosmic pie. With faint whoops and hollers buried deep in the mix, the name Communion definitely rings true. The selection comprises the best moments from albums Enemy & Lovers and Nuit De Rave with beautiful, awe-inspiring tracks such as the Kraftwerk flavoured "Golden Dreams" and the deeper, darker, Trentemoller techno style "Waiting For A Sign" serving as major highlight points.

Review: A very cool Parisian trio, comprising Narumi, Leo and Malk, not only are Tristesse Contemporaine signed to the Dirty label but they've got their shining light - remixer and one-half-of-Discodeine, Pilooski - on board as producer for their forthcoming debut album. "I Didn't Know" is sure to create a lot of interest, thanks to its Optimo-friendly dark disco vibe, complete with scratchy, Joy Division-esque bass leads and deep, '80s Chicago-style vocals. Australian chillwave duo Erik Omen cook up a Valium-friendly remake for the EP that transforms TC's original into a shining and chiming slo-mo essential, making this a hugely recommended release indeed.
