Review: Pulse Audio is a wicked little label and we're glad to see them keeping up the output, especially when they're flowing and well produced, like Sinprint's new release 'Journeys'. It's all about the combination of vocal magic and energy this release, and it's clear from the start of 'Insane', which kicks off on a bed of sampling and then rolls out into the synths and basses. Title track 'Journeys' has a big build up but flips beautifully on the drop into a spacious, minimal number. Wicked.

Review: Mosley is an artist who consistently churns out the goods and we regularly feature his music here, just because it always managed to rest itself on the pulse of D&B's rougher side. Take 'Rumble in the Jungle' as an example. One foreboding introduction later and you're enmeshed in a loop of gully bass notes that seriously smack of T>I or another Serum-school artist. 'No' is similar, with smooth urban culture sampling but jagged, rough bassline edges, it's snapping drums sitting ideally underneath. This is a big release and the other two tunes aren't far behind, their even greater dancefloor power tying up the EP nicely.

Review: Fire in the hole! Cannon lands on Pulse Audio and leaves us writhing in a strange soulful stew that's both delicate and dense at the same time. "Why Keep You" comes with a tender vocal and dreamy strings but a toxic bassline that totally melts floors. "White Walls" cleans up in a much darker, more twisted way. All reverse weirdness and gnarly twists, this won't just melt floors, it'll melt brains too... Shots fired!

Review: Raptcha doesn't mess around on this one, and it starts with 'Pinface'. Sparse and empty in all the right places yet full of life, this tune drops down from spruced up drum hits into gratingly gritty death synths, their verocity juxtaposed off percussive cleanliness. 'Dystopia' takes a steppier turn, a Benny L-esque track with another perfectly clean arrangement, low-frequency diversity and tic-tac hi-hats combining with style all the way through. Things get weightier on 'Armed Response' due to a heavy-hitting percussive line and a creative bassline that keeps you on your toes. 'Recognition' smacks of recent Jubei cut 'The Saboteur' with its old-school, Metalheadz vibe, before switching into simply banging jump-up - music that gives you the finger without showing off about it. This is a big EP.

Review: Now on their second release, new D&B label Pulse Audio invite new-gen Bristol talents Cannon and Hyper:Dimension to the plate for a broad and bountiful fourpiece. Cannon goes solo for the first two tracks; the sci-fi tech sizzler "Evidence" and the velveteen piano cut "Faded". Hyper:Dimension join the fray for a breathy pneumatic stepper "Disregarded" before closing the show solo with the neck-snapping, block-slapping wriggler "One More Time." Rewind.
