Review: The Rekid is back everyone; look out! Matt Edwards revives his old moniker on his sub label of.. you guessed it: Rekids. Named Pyramids Of Mars, it's had some previous releases by Rouge Mecanique and Vince Watson. First track "Tuesday Bluesday" is the perfect soundtrack to the horrid midweek affliction that affects us all regularly. It's a deep, dusty and funky little jam that works great as a DJ tool. "Mars" takes things even deeper with its low slung groove and those Middle Eastern music samples, it'd mix well with some Disco Halal stuff. Finally "Wave" is the real highlight on here: a glitchy micro-house groove reminiscent of classic Marc le Clair (Akufen/Horror Inc.). Worth buying for this track alone!
